I doubt Gilroy is leading any breakouts...

I can only imagine that you're too young/don't remember the Gilroy days. At least Bickel can play on the boards. Gilroy is fast... and... ummm, that's it.

He at least has the wheels to lead a breakout. Bicks has awful footspeed. Gilroy just gets murdered on the forecheck.

Torts says he could possibly use Gilroy as a forward in some situations tonight if needed.

curious as to what situation gilroy is better in then any other player on the team
waterboy?:D

we need to come out flying tonight, as we did against the flyers we need to dictate the way the games going to be played and establish a good forecheck EARLY if we dont play well in the first period i dont like our chances, but i have faith the team will rally the troops in the absence of our captain and play a good game.

Torts tells media it screwed up picking DZ first star vs. Flyers b/c it should have been Hagelin. I stand by my vote.

Interesting...confusing...is torts talking about the same hagelin that he talked about in his post game presser on Tuesday night? lol

yea i was a little perplexed before when i read that tweet, a bit hypocritical although i totally agree hagelin was a game changer the other night he was flying.

Their rosters would still look pretty good if they were missing a 2nd liner and 3rd liner like the Rangers are.

So does ours. We're not icing a joke of a team tonight. The only real glaring issue is Rupp on the 3rd line, but with similar injuries the Sharks would probably end up with Handzus on the 3rd line.

His quote-mined big time. He said he had a hell of a game immediately after he talked about the dumbness.

I am excited to see Gilroy, he was gone for a season and he was working with beuk in CT and he has had time to watch the rangers for 6 games. I think everyone has to give him at least one game before they write him off. He is very talented and personally I find him exciting to watch! I hope he has a good game! If he gets flat footed like bickel has been, I will def change my tune during or after the game, but until then I am giving him a chance!

Loss.

Penguins just love to beat the Rangers. This team still has some sucking to do before they get hot, I suspect.

lol?

Rupp is a goon playing on the 3rd line, that's a MAJOR problem.

We are also supposedly dressing a defenseman to play forward, maybe even two with Bickel and Gilroy. :help: You also have Taylor Pyatt on the top 6, which he wasn't even on with the offensively inept Phoenix Coyotes. This is an atrocious corps of forwards at this moment beyond the 1st line.

I think this is a win tonight. Moreover, I think despite all the grumpiness on these boards and the fact - yes, it's a fact - that we could use some bolstering to our depth, if we win tonight we'll be 4-1-0 in our last 5 after starting with 2 losses. We all need to give our heads a shake once in a while and realize how early it is and how good this team CAN be.
