Hope that opens the floodgates for him. Three on three isn’t entirely representative of what he is going to face when he needs to keep up the production but it’s a start. He did have a couple chances in the third as well.

Kakko certainly needs to get more time, but using how much Blackwell played as the comparison and benchmark is silly when Blackwell was playing very well in his own right all game

And bitching about the overtime forwards... it was Panarin-Zib to start, then Buch-Kreider, and then the last pair was Blackwell-Laf and Blackwell is the ONLY player you can rightfully get questionable about being out there over others like Kakko but he went out and played as well as he did the entire rest of the game previously and went on to make a tremendous effort to set up the game winner

Great game from Kakko and Lafreniere.

Kakko to me has reached a new level of play. His motor is running. He looks stronger on the puck. He needs/deserves more icetime.
