One of the beat writers needs to press Quinn on Kakko’s time. He’s one of your top 2 prospects and he’s playing way better than he has to any point in his career so far and you’re still not giving him ice time. Under 10 minutes in a game where he looked great is unacceptable. It’s not acceptable for him to get less ice time in the 3rd than Rooney, Howden, Lemieux. What kind of message does that send to him?

Hopefully Igor can settle in now, had no chance on either goal tonight, and wasn’t tested much, but good to get the first win.

I will say that shift before Miller and Lafreniere came on the ice, I thought for sure that wing coming down the right side was going to make Tony look like a fool

It’s a good thing whoever it was pulled up lol

I like to see Kakko get the chance to see if 1. is true.

Hughes is getting it.

And now so is Byram. Think he got 20-21 the other night.
It’s so ridiculous right? One gets the ice time and PP time while the other doesn’t. But automatically Hughes is better.

I was really impressed with Kakko. He is way more engaged and puck hungry. So what does Quinn do? Take away more ice time from the kid. Whzt the hell is Quinn seeing ? How is it that we as fans can see this but he can't.

Part of me wonders if Quinn is trying to ease him into the league — not overwhelm him — but that’s generous after the past few games. I mean, for all we know, Quinn asks Kakko how many minutes he’s comfortable playing. I don’t know. Assuming that’s not the case, though, KK has earned way more minutes than he’s getting.

Edit: and, if that is the case, it’s on the coach to challenge the player. Keeping him in a bubble doesn’t promote growth.

Absolutely

Our PP setup is still embarrassingly bad and it was almost the difference in the game... again...

The Goalie was good but we're not giving ourselves the best opportunities to score.

I’m just gonna say it. The Rangers won this game because Johnson didn’t play. Jk (Sort of).

Give Kakko more ice time god dammit.

I’m glad the Rangers have managed to find competent 4th liners but I don’t agree with their deployment

Have to imagine Lemieux comes out next game. Maybe Gauthier will get a game but I’ll believe it when I see it

Lemieux Blackwell Gauthier?

Honestly, outside of scoring, I actually thought this was his best game. He was very assertive.

And I say that as someone who has really liked what I’ve seen from him this season.

I agree. I feel like he looks closer and closer to what we saw at the WC's.

BTW, I don't think it was all on Hank, I think it was mostly the team, but I remember early on in Hank's career the team gave up more 3rd period leads than you'd like to see, like this team.
