The Hawks apparently hate big Dmen...and SAH defensive Dmen..Prefer smaller great skating g puck-mover types...soft but good with the quick stick...get pushed around but in the end skill kills and we win...5hat's the Bowman line...apparently..So I guess it means Svedberg will be traded...Remember ...Stan's next GM's pet is NOT Pokka ...but rather Erik Gustafsson who fits the small skilled gifted puck-mover to a T..Sure we have Keith and Dailey as LD who move the puck...but are 3 of this type not better than 2 ? Even if on the same side.Remember...when Keith first came to the NHL he was nothing great defensively....had to learn and improve...May e they feel Gustafsson can duplicate and improve defensively too..As for Dailey..he will adjust to our system...play with a great D-partner in Hammer and so not be as terrible defensively as some have posted on these boards..but still we do have 1 problem...No LD shot blocker on D..means the Oduya pk role cannot b replicated..so they need to adjust the pk in other ways lime better forward pressure on the opposing d-points..to do that Toews and Hossa gotta be taken off the PK...Toews will shift to scoring g more...Hossa needs to conserve more energy fir his agi g body just to try to keep his scoring g where it us because already it has started to fall off the cliff...Garbutt is a very good pk pressure guy on the point guys for the opponents..so he will help.May e Desjardins gets a bigger role on the pk...Kruger still should be there..Maybe Anisimov spells Toews in that pk duty role..They will figure it out but Q us an idiot if he keeps wasting g Toews and Hossa energy on pk duty..We need faster pressure guys attacking g the points and cutting down the amount t of shot blocking as required in the past..So they need to adjust the pk personnel and strategy.

Chris Block tweeted that Robin Press will join Robin Norell on Djugarden of the SHL next year. A step up from the 2nd tier league he played in last year.

I think Leddy sorta did something for the Isle. Jimmy Hayes played well for the Panthers and certainly has outperformed the guy who beat him out of a Hawks roster spot.

Dahlbeck looked good in Arizona.

They didn't trade Kayes, he chose to become a free-agent for whatever reason.

Pirri had a solid season. Though 2 assists for a guy that was such a playmaker in the AHL and college seems really odd. Probably has something to do with his 57% offensive zone starts, high PDO and unsustainable shooting% of 15.4.

Will be interesting to see how Pirri does as some of the high picks in FLA take his ice time and PP time.

I don't think Leddy should be put into that category. He wasn't a prospect. Stan put him on the team from basically day 1 that he was in the organization. The team clearly valued Leddy, they just couldn't fit him $ wise into the long-term plans of the team. Pirri and Hayes did alright, but they were nothing in Chicago and given countless opportunities. Like HS said, we'll see what Pirri does with diminished quality of icetime. I believe was healthy scratched numerous times a well. He really put up his goals on the PP.

Jayes and Pirri both had really good halfs or hockey last year for Florida when they got a good role situation. It's interesting to see how Pirri does next year and Jayes in Boston.

I have no regrets about Stan shipping Hayes or Pirri out. I actually despised that entire Rockford clique for their #free twitter ********. Hawks were a cup contender at the time and they were fringe NHL players. Why would they be entitled to that ice time in the playoffs.

Leddy and Saad suck, but I don't think that was really Stan's deciding for reasons other than cap constraints.

And I'm pretty happy Kevin Hayes can watch that banner go up into the rafters on October 7th.

I get the sense that some people would rather not have Cups, and have all this talent instead. You win, your players demand lots of money and you lsoe a lot of talent. It's nothing new to winning organizations.

Especially in a hard cap league.

I feel this way as well. The draining of the prospect system the last two seasons has been pretty huge.

Only so many spots on a team already loaded with talent the past few years. Which one of the prospects traded should have been on the team during the playoffs last season? I can't count a single one.

Been reading around the boards and i'm not getting all the love Kyle Baun is getting.
Why are people counting on him to make the team over prospects who have been in the system longer?

What's special about him ?
(Honest question)

It's pretty common around these boards for someone to hype a player and then everyone is all aboard the train and knows everything about the player (Reilly, Panarin) even though they've never seen them play. It appears that's happened with Baun as well. That's not the case for everyone who's hyping these guys or posting about them, but it is for a lot. I've never seen Baun play and stick out at the Icehogs games I went to this year. Went to 3 hogs playoff games and 3-4 regular season. He never stuck out either way. Guys like McNeill, Danault, Ross, Hartman stuck out. Johns DEFINITELY stuck out as the clearly best defender on that team.

Still a drain on the system (which was the original statement).

I don't think you believe that at all.

I wish I didn't. But the posts on here suggest they want all the talent, and don't expect to lose it. Which is impossible this day in age when you win 3 Cups in 6 years.

Do you think T & K command 10.5mil if they didn't have 2 Cups? Do you think Saad commands 6mil if he didn't have 2 Cups? and so on and so on..

Pretty strong irony criticizing people on the board because they've never seen them play, when Baun didn't play one game for Rockford this season. :handclap:

Because he didn't look bad in the games he played and Q spoke very highly of him... that truthfully is it. And I guess because of his style being one of the few big bodied guys that they think would replace a shipped away Bickell.

And Stan and Scotty brought him up in positive terms.

I see i see.
Well, hope he pans out.
He has the pedigree (even though that isn't any type of guarantee)

K Hayes Sr is a cancer. Pirri continues to be a 100 ft player and is soft on the boards. Might as well be a Euro.

I saw him play late in the season against Minny, he's a big dude, thought he was a little slow imo, but he played the next several games and Troy thought he was fine in his opinion, some think he will be a good replacement for Bicks, time will tell.
