Trouba needs to learn the lesson Mika learned the hard way as well. A smart wrister is better than these ridiculous slap shots.

The difference is Laine has an elite shot and could just stand at to dot and fire bombs his first year.
Yup, and they also played him next to some of the better players in his first year. And it was not a wrong decission for the club, he scored a bunch. But if you were to look at his play outside of his goal scoring, it was pretty similar to Kakko. Except Kakko can actually win some board battles.

I feel like Ovechkin was out there that whole period

Anyway, excellent period, gave them very little outside of their goal

Step it up and take this one home

And I think that is why Laine struggled for a while. He was a one trick pony. Once Kakko gets it figured out he will be a dangerous player that is not one dimensional (like Laine).

Georgijev left in a softie, but on the other hand he did make some great saves for us to survive their first assault. That's just what it is at this point, hopefully Shesty is back soon.

All fair points , on the bold I would say its because the team even in loses with Georgie in net the team has not looked as bad as with Hank. The games they have lost with Hank in net the team has been completely putrid, seems like they play with zero confidence with him in there.

They have been playing like garbage in front of Hank for years. I have no idea if they just relax a bit more with him back there and expect him to clean their shit up.

Then again, he has been a great overall forward for the Jets this season. Which is actually kinda disapointing because there was a real hype in Finland for him to become the next Ovie, and he still has the shot to match him. But he will not be that type dominant goal scorer unfortunately. He will still be a great player, he's touching PPG so people should be happy I guess.

Laine’s playmaking is pretty damn good though. And at the beginning of the season, I heard from Jets fans that it’s surprisingly almost as good as his shot.

Weird time to rag on him after he set up a good chance at a slam dunk goal for Kakko

First off that didn’t get across clean but it’s not a weird time I’ve been saying it for weeks

this coach needs to stop relying on the DiGiuseppe And Lemieuxs of the world. Start giving those additional mins to Kakko and Gauthier. We aren’t scoring even strength goals and we aren’t scoring on PP2
