Hated, hated, HATED the Carcillo acquisition. What he did to Gaborik was gutless, and I'll never forget it.

That said, you cannot underestimate the value of a player who is difficult to play against, makes the other team uncomfortable, and takes their focus off the task at hand. Carcillo does that.

I wish we had acquired one of those 'dime a dozen' Carcillos who are out there instead of the real thing, but it is what it is.
 
hes been very effective for us. no complaints. hes an agitator like avery was but with way less talent.

hes earned his minutes. hes surprised me with his skating and his game awareness. much better than i thought.

We acquire those "dime a dozen" guys every single year, and they're never as effective as Carcillo.

I also love how everyone is complaining about his goal totals. Dorsett is a lesser scorer then Carcillo. They both don't score. In the other aspects of the game, Carcillo has been better this year.

Also, our penalty kill has become extremely solid without Dorsett. Nash has been stellar taking over his spot, surprisingly. MSL looks good as well.

Really no need for DD at this point outside of warming the bench with Falk

EDIT: ODC, completely agree, his awarenesss and skating have been FAR better then I ever anticipated. Also, clearly better then DD's.

I didn't know you were 37.

Anyway, Dorsett is meh. Carcillo is meh. Carcillo's been better than I expected (I expected complete and utter disgrace) but Boyle and Moore are the driving force on that line, and Dorse/Carcillo will be the passenger.

Also, since the start of November, Dorsett has drawn as many penalties as he's taken.
 
Key factor of putting DD in the lineup...if a RHD breaks a stick, they can get a right handed stick from half the lines instead of a quarter of the lines
