There's no way a goalie should be allowed to cover the puck that far out...

I've always felt they should make a giant circle with the net as its focal point. Anywhere outside of the circle, the goalie is fair game. So if he wants to try to play the puck outside that circle, he should be prepared to get smashed. But if a player bumps the goalie while he's inside the circle, the player should get a penalty. But of course the liberalist safety BS would prevent that from ever happening.

That circle would kill multiple birds with one stone.
