Because Carcillo is not a good thing. He's a bad thing.
I hated the move when we made it, but he has done nothing but play hard, smart hockey since coming to us.
I'm willing to change my tune when it's appropriate and in this case, it certainly is.
He's a better player then Dorsett. He actually has been more productive then Dorsett over his career as well. His fundamentals are far better and his stats are slightly better.
Dorsett is a 0.21 PPG, while Carcillo is a 0.23. Dorsett's GPG is .09 while Carcillos is .11.
The knock on Carcillo is he's an effective fourth line player who can't keep his head on straight. Thing is, he has here, which is how he should be judged. I've seen him walk away from 5-10 fights already as a Ranger. He is clearly learning to keep it under control.
The interference call last game was the first really bad penalty he's had since coming here.
