I don't see how Verbeek can look at how Cronin has this team playing and go, "Yeah, this is the system that will lead to us being a competitive franchise."

I’ve been saying that since day one of this hire.

Once this gongshow of a coach is let go and someone with an established pedigree comes in I will be much more happier.

Disappointing game and current projection, but before the season started I wanted to finish at or above .500, that's the "play off chase" for me and it's still obtainable. Next year I'll be wanting the play offs and to see more of our youth take bigger steps, similar to lacombe this year.
My hope is that we will change coaches and have the players do what they are best at, not just focus on defense, keep the defense minded aspect and the lessons learned from it, but take off the leash on offense.

But that is what Verbeek is saying. A better PP and PK makes us a playoff team. Our youths need to show improvement offensively, maybe try to grab a top-6F, and we are, "H. O. T.T.... O... G.O!"

He said we would have a playoff spot in the standings right now, not that we would be a playoff team.

Maybe it's semantics but IMO there's a difference

His increased all-around play in no way makes up for the precipitous drop in production.

Yea, I'm glad he's doing all those things now, and I guess you credit Cronin for that. But, he's still not really that good at those things and it doesn't make up for the lack of offense.

I will say this though. It seems as if he's trying his ass off to do everything Cronin (and maybe Verbeek) is asking of him. He's getting in the scrums and not letting other teams push him around, which very few on the team do. He's fighting people, even though he cant fight at all. He's throwing hits even though he's getting suspended because he doesn't how to throw a hit. He's trying his best at playing better defense.

It seems as if he's trying as best as he can to play a game that doesn't come natural to him to please the coach(es). It's just not his game. Unleash this f***ing kid at center and let him do his thing.
