Reinbacher is gonna play with Guhle on the 1st pair eating minutes and play against other team 1st line.
I don’t think we have the perfect partner for Huston yet on the 2nd pair though
He's still very young and could mature into much more of a player than we are seeing now and it becomes an incredible bargain of a contract. I don't see much in the way of point production from him but that might be due in large part to Matheson blocking him from getting a good look on the pp.It's 2007 Hamrlik money. If Guhle could have the same 20-24 hard minutes, it will be a real bargain.
He’s contract just say they don’t see him as #1 all around Dmen but it doesn’t mean anything on his usage. It's Hutson and Reinbacher, Guhle is #3 has this contract confirms. Now it's not going to be this year as Hutson and Reinbacher are not ready, but money talks and right now that's the story money is telling. That's what our pro scouts are projecting.
Hutson - Reinbacher
Guhle - Mailloux
He looks like a bean pole next to Xhekaj in civilian clothes. He needs to get bigger and stronger and as you said, he needs to have better awareness on the ice.needs a vet d to teach him more to protect himself from the wild hits
Pretty much shows how management doesn't see him as a #1 dman on a cup contender despite what many here believe.
I agree here.
The perfect RHD for Hutson is in Calgary, and he’s named Rasmus Andersson.
I'm really looking forward to Hutson boxing players out when push comes to shove. It's not popular because it's bs. It comes from a very significant mis-evaluation of his defensive skills.
The NHL is trending towards Hutson's style of skillset and he has over performed the last 3 years. I know that we have Mark Streit derangement syndrome, but this is false pattern recognition based on a bad analysis of Lane's skillset.
Would have been 8*9 or more. Ds enter their prime around 27-28 - ie. a lot more $.
He might be a first pairing at that point.
Evans is the only UFA, but with as chance to stay. RHP is another RFA, and if you are counting Heineman, then there is Farrell too.So our "big free agents" for 2025 are Evans, Harris, Struble Primeau and Heineman.
I think Heineman could be part of a bottom 6 more than Farrell, but neither them or RHP are really important parts, that was my point.Evans is the only UFA, but with as chance to stay. RHP is another RFA, and if you are counting Heineman, then there is Farrell too.
I don't see Savard, Dvorak or Armia re-signing unless they are prepared to take less, or in some cases, much less.
Makes sense but for my money, I’d prefer each younger D’s (Hutson & DR) to have a partner with more NHL experience, rather than a pairing of equal age and experience.Reinbacher is the perfect partner for Hutson. A big dman who can skate, be good defensively, and has the the iq to follow on Hutson's plays
Guhle is the perfect partner for Mailloux.
Bergy Thee StallionDamn you for sticking that image in my head lol
That defense will need Price to get out of retirement. It's Hutson and Reinbacher, Guhle is #3 has this contract confirms. Not sure you can conclude that, even if you see a guy as a #1 D, 6 years at 5.5m is a much better deal then 8 years at 8m.He’s contract just say they don’t see him as #1 all around Dmen but it doesn’t mean anything on his usage.
You should see how many concussions Sidney Crosby hasA lot of money for a guy with 2 concussions
No noThe last point is still being contested by the hoes!
What a bunch of awful examples lol. If Guhle's camp wanted a Sanderson-type contract for 8 years and Hughes was unwilling to do that, that tells you he doesn't value him as a #1 dman. Maybe Guhle becomes one, maybe he doesn't, but it's clear that management doesn't think so or else they'd give the extra 2 years and increase the money.I guess Colorado didn't see Mackinnon as a star player when they give him that 6.3 M contract. Or the Bruins with Pastrnak. Or the Canucks with Quinn Hughes.
What a bunch of awful examples lol
Yeah it totally disproves my point. Let me refuse to give him a Sanderson-type contract when I want an 8-year deal even though I know he will be worth it. Makes perfect sense. Yes, likely, the Avs and Bruins didn't think their respective players would be top 10 players in the league given how their initial contracts without proving enough to get superstar money. I'm surprised you didn't include Draisaitl's contract to prove your ridiculous point. Hughes is one of the highest-paid dmen in the league and you were falsely criticizing his defensive game not too long ago which means you're contradicting yourself.Bad examples because it disproves your point? ok
5.5m$ is the proof that they are seeing Guhle as a #3D like he is. Not a #1D.
But it's not selling him as such, when Guhle's camp asks for a Sanderson-type contract, you absolutely do it if you think he's going to be a #1 dman on cup contender. It's Hughes who refused to do it.Or selling him as such during negotiations to gain a better deal if or when he exceeds those projections. It's not like Guhle could disagree with the assesment.

Sorry but it ain't happening.
Put it this way we won't be trotting out Hutson for defensive assignments.
Which is all I'm saying.
