Lundqvist with another great performance. He cannot buy a win in net.

He is literally doing all he can to keep them in it.

Problem is he shouldnt need to keep them in it for 40 minutes before they find their legs.

Lack of intensity when starting games has been a huge issue. So has defensive coverage. It's another game with 15-20 high danger chances against. That is simply unacceptable and it is as much on the coach as it is the players. Their defensive approach needs to be completely restructured.

I put a lot of this on Quinn for not having his team prepared.

I wanted to vote TDA too, but used sympathy vote for Lundqvist. You just know he is quietly fuming inside, every second he is on the ice.

The absolute most obvious difference between the first two periods and the third was how much more committed the Rangers were to defending and actually closing gaps on the Canucks. They finally took their space away and that generated a heck of a lot of chances. Rangers need to go back and remind themesleves of how they won the first two games. They were relentless on the puck and need to get back to that game. The third period showed they can be that team but they need to start showing that for a full 60!

A lot of our problems have come from just not playing enough hockey. We’ll get better. You could see Tony’s game coming today. Kakko will get better Kreider and Buchy will get better they’re slow starters.

Not being ready to play has been a hallmark of this team for too long now. Yeah the refs sucked, but if the team actually played for 60 minutes (or even 40), it probably wouldn't have made a difference.

Kakko is just too slow. Needs to work on speed next season. If he was NHL fast he would be a f***in nightmare to play against.

Chytil needs a call up. He's way better than Howden and Strome offensively. Rangers need a spark. Let him be it. Hell, call up Kravy as well.

Staal gives away a goal every game. We're in our zone the most when Staal is on the ice. He's been on the ice or in the box for >50% of goals against. Just tank on. 158 games to go.

For perspective for how bad the defense has been this season...

Lundqvist is a .906SV% facing 15+ HDCA routinely against opposition. He has been good, and he is just a .906SV%.

This is why stats are not everything folks.
