Lunqvist hasn't played since Saturday - of course he's going to get the start tonight.

This. I think he's gonna get 10 games before Biron plays maybe 2 out of the next five after that. I don't think they're gonna get Biron 10 games this season. Henke is still a bit rusty and that coupled with the slow start will force Torts to maybe play him more than planned initially.

Kinda think hes going to burn out Lundqvist and the top line. If you dont have the guys to play when it really matters then the start wont make a difference.

Just my two cents, its a risk.

Im in a bad mood today

With how Tortorella played Lundqvist last season, I think he knows what he's doing. Lundqvist has plenty of time to get some rest. Now we just need him to get him on his game ASAP, IMO. Let him get some momentum first and then give him rest.

NYR were gassed last time these two teams met...

Rangers should roll over their porous defense. No way they can handle out top six if we bring it.

Ranger blow out 5-2

Nobody can predict the score of a game, but I think we'll get a goal out of Nash today.

Callahan is in line for one as well.

some of you act like lundqvist is a fragile, lazy bum or something.

This is a shortened season, worrying about him playing too many games is just silly

Similarly, contrary to popular belief, there is no amount of fighting that will stop the opposing teams from hitting the Rangers.

Are the Flyers that tough? Here's their lineup from last game:

Yeah, this. If you want to hurt the other team, you need guy who can hit hard but cleanly. There really are only very few occasions where you need someone who can fight (maybe after a very dirty hit), and a guy like Rupp or any other enforcer won't stop a dirty player from doing their thing anyway.

The one thing that those staged fights maybe could do is changing the momentum a little bit. But for that you'd need a decisive victory, and that's a pretty rare thing as well. And of course there's always the possibility that the momenutum shifts the wrong way.

Bottom line: I don't want a defensive liability in our lineup just for another pointless, staged fight in the game.

I am concerned with bickel being in the lineup tonight. His play thus far has made me very uneasy. I thought eminger did well, but maybe it was just his limited ice time, who knows.

No matter what, let's go rangers! We need to get this win tonight!!!

Lundqvist again?

Torts is going to kill this guy. Not a good idea if you ask me.

At least give Biron ONE game early. The next 5 out of 6 games after tonight are against top Eastern teams, is he going to start all of those too?

You put Biron against the Isles and hell lose. They always play us hard.

He's had 2 days off. I can see him starting next 2 games and then Biron against Tampa.

I figure each of McDonagh, Staal, Girardi, and Del Zotto will each have to play an extra 0:15 now that Bickel is in for 3 minutes instead of Eminger in for 4. They are gonna get burned out.

It's not even about that. It's more so Bickel does triple the damage that Eminger does in those 3 minutes.

does anyone see what torts sees in bickel? some people defend him but i really do not see anything at all. every time he is on the ice its like the other team has a PP, he literally does nothing. against pitt joe fuc*ing vitale (16 career points) walks right through him and that lead to a goal. JOE FUC*ING VITALE :madfire: i mean i can always rely on stu for :pb: but not much else. also wtf does torts see in eminger that makes him hate him so much. emi played solid games and deserved more than the 4 minutes that he was getting. i just dont get it

Let's call a spade, a spade: the guy's a goon. If you wanna have a goon in your lineup, be my guest, but they should never be playing defense.

Can't wait to see Bickel choke slam Briere and elbow drop Schenn. Just like the good ol' days. You kids are too young to remember power bombs and face rakes when these teams used to play for keeps and games were won by injuring the other team until the bench was too short to ice a line.

Video nerds just don't recognize what it takes to win a Cup.

hes a goon, but hes not even good at that. hes a bad goon and his terribad mistakes keep haunting this team. i really wish sather would just trade him for a bag of pucks just so torts cant play him anymore. bag of pucks would probably be more useful too...
