same. at least a 10 game suspension and we may never see him again after that (deveaux was gone after his incident) better for the team in the long run

I really do admire Bickel's heart and the way he has stood up for other guys on this team, but unfortunately I think the main thing going against him is that he plays defense.... You simply cannot dress a guy like bickel in an everyday lineup with the amount of mistakes he has made.
He is the kind of player that I really wouldn't mind seeing inserted in the lineup every now and then on the fourth line in games where we have to face a team like Philly... it just cannot be on defense.

Eminger played 4 minutes last game. The #6 defenseman on this Rangers team so far this season is so irrelevant, we could be starting Jason Strudwick, as is, and it wouldn't even make a difference.
If it was a more progressive discussion like say, wow, I'm not happy Bickel is in the lineup, Sather really needs to explore improving the teams defensive depth, then I would understand. Pick your poison with Bickel and Eminger, because regardless of who gets the nod, they're going to play less than 5 minutes.
Might finally be time to see what Gilroy can do at the NHL level (again).

I agree with this post but I dont think Gilroy is a better answer. He really just seems clueless in the defensive zone, he is so easily pushed off the puck. At this point to me I do think that Eminger belongs in the lineup, I feel he really isn't bad as a number 6 option.
The bottom line is Gilroy and Bickel are NOT the kind of players you can have in your lineup every day

Its like Torts has oddly specific amnesia when it comes to Bickel. He gets to play all the time, but as soon as he steps onto the ice Torts remembers that he sucks and benches him for the rest of the game. Wash, rinse, repeat.
I'd honestly like to see Gilroy. He has many faults; soft, bad defensively, not that good offensively, but his transition game is excellent and the Rangers probably has one of the worst transition games in the league. Our breakouts are embarrassing!
Even though Staal-MDZ were great last game I'd play Staal with Gilroy and MDZ with Strålman. If Petro can make Redden look decent in STL, Staal should be able to do the same for Gilroy.

I doesn't really matter, what does matter is that Torts stupidly enough is seemingly playing Stepan and Callahan on the same line AGAIN. Does he think its a coincidence that they both play significantly worse when they are on the same line?

i thought it was hags ferriero cally regardless that line had no center which is kind of a problem

Guys sorry if this has been answered somewhere else. So far this season the Sabres coverage has not gotten in the way of the Rangers broadcast but tonight I am getting the Sabres pregame show. Did something change? I don't have have msg2 or msg plus 2.
