Just curious--why are you saying this like it's a bad thing? We have a hole on the LW, a player steps up to fill it and looks promising. I know your philosophy is "didn't score = fail" as you point out, but if the LW hole can be filled over a larger sample by Toffoli, what's the issue?
No. I'm saying it like a factual thing. He was not going to get back into the top 6 with Carter and Williams in his way unless he went into some sort of savant mode on the 3rd/4th line. By changing his position, he's filling a hole on the top 6 which is at LW.
