Just curious--why are you saying this like it's a bad thing? We have a hole on the LW, a player steps up to fill it and looks promising. I know your philosophy is "didn't score = fail" as you point out, but if the LW hole can be filled over a larger sample by Toffoli, what's the issue?

No. I'm saying it like a factual thing. He was not going to get back into the top 6 with Carter and Williams in his way unless he went into some sort of savant mode on the 3rd/4th line. By changing his position, he's filling a hole on the top 6 which is at LW.

Do something with these individuals.

I can give Clifford a pass...but perhaps a change of scenery might do good for him...

I wouldn't be completely opposed to the idea of being sellers this season. Get a bunch of assets and make some moves during the summer because it's brutal to make trades right now due to the salary cap.

And who knows, sometimes moving some players out actually jump starts the team. Happened to the Sharks last season, they moved Clowe, Handzus and Murray for nice returns and their team caught fire.

Sutter is becoming a very big problem, but the roster needs to be overhauled before decisions are made on the coach.

I think sutter gets more rope then ™ ATM given what he has done the past two seasons….. (SC and WCF) like you said, Players will be moved before he thinks about firing the coach.. Since He didn't hold the players accountable last time, he will this time I think

I'd do that trade. Better producer, similar defensive play. It's a leadership change too, maybe we need that.

Switching wings isnt a big deal. The only issue I had was moving to center because of the defensive responsibility. Im sure pros can figure it out.

It certainly increases his opportunity to make a difference but increasing the chances for the Kings to win? I wouldn't go that far considering they can't put the puck in the net it seems no matter who is on the ice.

watch the bench interactions between Sutter and the players. this will be the most telling indicator we will witness. quite a few times tonight Sutter was leaning forward talking and the players were leaning forward to the boards.

read the body language

in the past to often guys were always leaning back and partially turning towards him. keep watching the bench when they show it.

i'm not saying after one game i would make a call on what is happening, but they used to always listen very intently to DS

Honestly, Toffoli on the first line is the only reason I tuned in. Is he a savior, no. At least that line has showed the best creativity in the past 20 games. This team is so far from any one player not named Crosby or Malkin saving the season.
