More like Panarin type, he looks exactly as young Artemii on the ice.
He is trending that way. Same height and weight almost, too. (SOURCE)

Panarin is a very good comparison for him it seems

Dude if this kid becomes even a poor man's version of Panarin we should be giddy and gleeful.

Like I said before, I was a big fan of Kisakov in the 2021 draft and Buchelnikov's game reminds me a lot of what I liked about Kisakov. I don't want to jump from hyped to overhyped until we see how this kid does in a full season in the VHL or KHL.

Don’t mean in terms of what he’s tracking to be, but play style. That is to say if he reaches his absolute top potential, which he is quite unlikely to do, I think he will be a similar player to Panarin.

Fair enough. I really like the homerun swing on Buchelnikov. He might only end up as a KHL scorer, but if he develops then we're probably getting a really good top 6er in the NHL. I don't see this kid on a 3rd or 4th line.

If he doesn't get killed I could see him as top 9. His quickness will help him with his
defensive game

These kind of draft picks could really be the factors that make or break the Stanley Cup.

As a scenario, if he pans out even near of something like Panarin.

In 5 years Red Wings have risen on the top, Seider and Raymond and other key guys are starting to have bigger contracts and cap is starting to fill up against the highest limit.

On that point, you will add a Russian, who has been until his 23 birthday at KHL. He is coming in with an ELC and will start playing at +6M player level instantly like Panarin or Kaprizov. It's the final add, with bargain caphit, for already a contender team. At this point we will have hidden value outside the cap, until he will get bigger contract after his ELC.

On that point we will win the Cup.

It's like Colorado having different kind of bargain in Nichuskin, who played with laughable low salary at last year. Now the guy is getting 6M. He was 5M amount of cap steal, if not more.

You just have to found these steals, from here and there, and call them in with right timing.

I watched half the game, Buch looked really good. Not sure about the quality of the competition in preseason KHL but he looked quite talented and was very noticable. Also there were so many power plays and very little board play, maybe thats normal for a KHL game.

Nah, a lot of PP isn't typical for the KHL, it's typical when you play vs Nazarov's teams...

It feels like he could be the steal of the draft. Even if he's only Panarian or Kuch light he'd still be one of the best offensive players drafted by the wings in decades.

Guys does really find the places to score.

It's not just luck having those easy empty-net slappers. Half of goal-scoring ability is right positioning, for a deadly shot. Great playmaker will find him.

I'm very excited for this kid, but man is it crazy that he went from unranked by 9/10 scouting services to "potential steal of the draft at #52" in a month and a half.
