I was going to post something similar to this the other day. When you look at the roster, the Rangers have so few players who are actually in their primes.

I would also argue that a lot of hope was/is based on a large number of players all turning corners:

Chytil, Andersson, Lemieux, ADA, Hajek, Kakko, Kravtsov, Fox, etc.

The frustrating part is that it’s also not unrealistic for the light bulb to appear for a lot of those names at some this season. So there’s a built-in level of optimism that can quickly turn sour during the stretches where it’s off the rails.

MSG didn't really show a replay on his Kempny hit, but apparently the interwebz think Lemmy should be suspended...

Right now, we’re probably a team that finishes in the 8-12 range in the draft, pre-lottery.

I can see us having mini surges where playoff chatter and [Insert Name] is a stud threads spring up, and other stretches where we wonder if this team will ever win again.

I expect it to be frustrating. Important in the long run, but there are going to many nights where people go to bed unhappy.

I’m firmly in the tank one more season crowd, so I’m not going to cry over losses to good teams. That said, I wonder how much that good form in the first two games can be attributed to the opponent and how the crazy long layoff may have affected any momentum that was building.

Right now this is pretty much a team of individuals with no idea how to play with each other. Yet. Not that they'll be "good" when they get to that point, but this is kinda what happens with a bunch of young players and roster turnover

MSG actually showed the replay of that exact angle of the hit at least 4 times.

Made contact with the head but looked like It was going to be shoulder but Kempny lowered his head right before contact.

Made two pathetic plays while going back to retrieve the puck and lost it both times leading to two goals.

Man this team has been absolutely atrocious so far, not even competitive outside of NJ and OK against Ottawa.
Bravo. This guy saw the plays that led to his benching

1st was a droppass through his legs while behind the net that he was hoping to Bank off the boards with Oveie on him. Instead he hit his own skates and boom boom

Yeah, that looks like the kind of hit that could see a suspension.

It's impossible to evaluate intent at that speed of play. BL could be going hard for a hit to the chest and the stars may have aligned poorly. But I've seen the NHL punish that before.

I think back to the Fox hit from last game where he kind of ducked his head at the last minute- I dont see that here.

The pity-play on Kempny's injury history is superfluous though. A comment for likes on twitter. It's not like the supergenius Lemieux went out there thinking... "Oh yeah, this asshole, he just got back from a big leg injury, let's take off his head!"

Kakko does not look good. Maybe putting him on the first line will protect him in the sense that Z and Panarin are good so they can do all the work?

Could have bought out Marc Staal, kept a very good looking Shattenkirk and motored along. Trade Vladislav for a 5th and Ebert instead of a 4th and Ebert. The defense would look stellar right now and Shattenkirk has trade value heading into his final year/TDL next year. Instead, we Marc Staal 19 minutes a night. Fireable offense.

I would have bought out Staal instead of Dan Girardi.

Kakko looks a step behind. But as long as he's not losing confidence and improving I see no reason to send him down. Watching a game from a skybox wouldn't hurt though.

Those lines might be tolerable

The current ones are not

This. So much this. I want to see this.

I knew we weren't going to be winning a lot of games this year unless everyone stepped up, miraculously, and I was/am 100% cool with that. It's still a rebuild even if we went out and got Panarin and Trouba. And it will still be a rebuild next season.

I just wanna see progress from the young guys and know where we stand and what needs to be addressed beyond the obvious GLARING hole at #2C that needs to be addressed this season/off-season. We're going nowhere fast without that happening. We all know who's coming in and who comes off the books over the next 2 seasons. All well and good. We can make a lot happen in that time. This center depth issue is hanging over our head and it's not a draft lottery that will fix it regardless of how good the pick is. We need a #2C yesterday. Still won't be a competitor, but at least we'll build with whoever that is and be ready sooner than later. Wasting a lot of time and a lot of development by not having that position filled.

But it would be nice to see the lines you posted. And maybe Chytil being NHL ready by the end of the season.
