Looks like #19 to me, which would make it MacKenzie Entwistle. None of the defencemen who played last night wear double digits, so it's a forward for sure.

Yup was #19.

So Tkachuk had shifts where he battled hard in the corners/in front of the net and his forecheck led to him having nice assist on the GWG. Pretty much as advertised.

There are quite a few knowledgeable fans that have crapped on picking Tkachuk at 4. IMO regardless of him being worthy of that , (which I think he is), I think a lot of these same people will come to love this guy on this team in a couple years.

Therein lies the problem, for me. We left that many guys on the board, who right off the bat, we can safely say all have the potential to be higher impact players, with all due respect to Brady's truculence.

They were both guys I liked a ton well before they were even considered mid 1st rounders. Both easily have more offensive potential at their respective positions, in my opinion. Kotkaniemi is going to explode next year, his tools and toolbox are insanely good.

Doesn't matter what I think, the Sens chose Brady. Sink or swim at this point

I don't think he said that those players have potential to be higher impact players. He said they could all be better, or Brady could be better. There isn't a lot of separation in the top 10 beyond the top 2 players, so it comes down to what you value most in a hockey player.

There really isn't much out there to suggest that BT has the lowest ceiling potential in that group. People are getting confused with scoring and being an impact player. Zadina may score more goals, but like a guy like Vanek, may not end up being an impact player in the NHL. BT has a high potential to be an impact player in the NHL. He'll score points, maybe not as many as Zadina, but he has the potential to bring so much more to the table. Hoffman scores more than Stone, but no one would pick Hoff over Stone, but first he has to be able to score in the league or he'll be next to useless.

Scoring more does not equal higher ceiling either, and Zadina doesn't project to be similar to the leagues top scorers, he just doesn't, there's a reason he fell to sixth, and a reason why he didn't enter the conversation with guys who actually do project to become top players in Dahlin and Svech. He's more likely to be the next Hoffman, which isn't a bad pick at all.

Well, in the end we'll just have to see, I'm not sure why I feel the need to defend our pick in here, but I do. I guess maybe it's because it's the kind of player that I like the most (aggressive and skilled power forward) and I end up maybe defending my preferences through the player pick. Anyways, I'm excited to see how he develops, and don't care much for players drafted by other teams. We're all welcome to our preferences and opinions, I'll try and refrain from debating the undebatable any more at this point. :)

Just for the sake of some positivity, here were some fans at the game yesterday, posting on twitter.

I saw Tkachuk skate towards the puck and player in the corner and lift his stick, stealing the puck and making a nice pass to the player who scored. Not much “bullying” physical play there.

In the other vid I watched, Tkachuk did play a bit physical with Bouchard, which I was glad to see. But he was not physically dominating Bouchard imo.

From that clip, Bouchard looked a lot bigger. Brady needs to get bigger, and stronger, no doubt about it. Brady is still going through the awkward, and uncoordinated teenage growth phase. His balance needs improvement.

Give him another year and watch out...

Yup. And Bouchard was touted as a player physically ready to play in a man's league, so that's fine.

He could still grow an inch and he can definitely add and carry 20 pretty easily. You can tell he likes to agitate though... I like that.
