NBSCN panel of homers speculates that Rangers won't trade Yandle, he'll leave, and if they were to trade Yandle they "won't get an Anthony Duclair, they won't get a 1st, and they won't get a 2nd".

While this is untrue, both guys were former NHLers. Plenty of former NHLers who haven't yet bought into intense analytics. They rely on the eye test and hype. That's why Staal will get you a lot. Long term contract. Big time name. Hockey pedigree.

The only obstacle is the NMC. Big obstacle.

You'll make a reaping for Yandle, btw. But probably more from the teams that are starting to quantify success into numbers than teams that have old hockey players in the old boys club. Meanwhile you'll probably also get a decent return for Marc Staal from the old boys club, that's under the impression that hockey players will play when you put them in areas to succeed, and Staal atm is not in a place to succeed under this system. Same rationale for G.

Unreal though, hearing Keith and Bouch saying "Rangers won't get much for Keith Yandle" when this is a big time sellers market and he's arguably top 2 best available defender.

Keith knows nothing and Bouch hates the Rangers. He and his junior helmet can go **** off

Considering what Sekera got last year and the fact that Yandle's a better player than Sekera, they're clueless.

Did they mean they won't get the package of Duclair, 1st and 2nd back, or did they mean individually. I sure hope they meant the package, because thinking Yandle won't return a 2nd is lunacy

Individually. He crossed each asset one by one, not as a package. And Boucher stood there with his smug biased self nodding and actually added "yea, Keith, they won't get much at all".

That might be the most idiotic thing said on NBC yet. The crew should be congratulated for really out doing themselves this time.

The real mistake wasn't them saying what they said. It was me absentmindedly unmuting the TV, catching that segment, and spending 2-3 minutes just sitting there and practicing breathing exercises to suppress mounting anger.
