How bad are bone bruises normally? I literally have no idea.

Also, AV must have seen #FreeMcIlrath trending.

#NYR head coach Alain Vigneault says Henrik Lundqvist starts, Dylan McIlrath comes in for Dan Boyle.

#NYR head coach Alain Vigneault says Rick Nash is out. Had an MRI done and it showed a bone bruise. No break.

Going to the game tonight. Was hoping that both the King and the Undertaker (for Boyle) will be in. Thank you, AV

Glad to hear McI gets a game, he needs it with a week off looming.
Hopefully the forwards can generate some kind of offence without Nash

No reason to rush Nash back. Glad this injury happened when the team has time off so he can heal. We'll see again tonight how he drives offense and the team is worse without

At times they look like they're really turning it on and then they do **** like they did yesterday. No consistency.

That is totally on AV, and I've seen enough.

We lost yesterday the exact same reason we lost game 7 last year against TB.

This "If we just keep playing our game we know we'll be fine" crap that the whole team pukes up every 5 seconds, needs to stop!

Guess what? IT'S NOT ALWAYS GOING TO BE FINE IF YOU DON'T MAKE ADJUSTMENTS. WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS NOT WORKING SO MAYBE DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT. This infuriates me!!

AV is simply not capable of making these adjustments, and the team did not come out for the 3rd period with any sort of of urgency.

I've had it with this guy on so many levels.

Glad Dylan is back in, but what exactly does he have to do to stay in?

Score a goal, couple of assists and allow zero scoring chances against while he's in?

I noticed that in Nash's absence, AV was running Klein on PP2. How about McIlrath? Klein is only there because of his shot and being RH, Dylan has a booming shot and is right handed as well. I'd give it a try.

Basically he needs to just take a run at one of the other defenseman during the game and injure them. I think that's the only way he stays in long term.

my optimistic view is that this is one of those 'catches up with you seasons' but next year can be more like the last 3-4
look at LA last year, and how they bounced back this year. they mde a couple changes, Lucic in, Stoll, Williams, Richards out, but much the same core

that said, i have little faith left for a deep spring run this season,
too inconsistent, too sloppy, not enough guys improved,
and the coach is coaching like he needs his meds adjusted

as long as they don't sell prospects or high picks for 30 year olds,
i can take it in stride

mE, TOO. The two wins over Vancouver and Carolina are a mirage. This is a decent team, but it has little depth and far too many black holes. We are not beating the Crapitals, Blackhawks, and several other teams with the current lineup, I don't care how good Lundqvist plays.

That said, we can retool quickly. We still have a lot of good players on the team, and if we can get rid of Boyle/G/Staal/Glass and one or two others, we'll have plenty of cap room to quickly reload, and plenty of good players who'd be happy to come to NY, because the Rangers are a first class organization that treats players well (maybe too well, in fact).

I think about a lot of things, but I had this thought on what I am seeing - the AV system relies on a lot of speed (stretch pass, etc.). I love speedy teams, but the Rangers are playing often against the trap, and three of their defensemen are so god**m slow the other team could have a ham sandwich in center ice waiting for them to move up ice. How can you break a trap - be up ice before they can set up. And the team does not adjust to this at all, nor does AV.

Hopefully, playing those huge minutes for the slow three is just a prelude or a showcasing of them for a trade (but I doubt it with the NMC, plus other teams aren't blind). Still, wouldn't the Canes like to unite the Staal boys?

Let him sit - bone bruises are usually just a few days until the body reabsorbs the blood. If no ligament damage or fracture, should be fine by next Tuesday (next game after tonight)
