lol Any team we play in the playoffs is going to give us a run for our money. Whether it's Boston or the Penguins, the playoffs are a whole new ball of wax and the Rangers need to be mentally ready to play any team we have to to win. It was hard enough last year when we were consistent, confident, and strong mentally. This year is going to be a challenge no matter what considering how we've played all year.
so glad Gilroy is out.. id rather have Newbury at least he plays physical and isnt soft as marshmellow

Bruins fan here, just a thought that if you guys win the afternoon game today, I wonder if Boston will lose purposely to avoid you guys and end up with the 4th seed to play Toronto, then you would play Montreal. Probably not but I really don't want to play the Rangers, and after reading the Bruins board nobody else does either lol. Best of luck to ya'll anyhow.

As a Bruins fan would you actually think for a second that your team would honestly consider losing purposefully, ever?
The pens board feels the same way. In the end, 1st round is not a cakewalk in the nhl, no matter who you face.
True. Never know though, if there's a conspiracy about non-playoff teams purposely losing to get a better draft pick, why wouldn't teams strategically lose to position themselves to play a team they've had a lot of success playing the past 5 years (Toronto) to not a play a team they don't seem to match up well against(Rangers.)

Have the Flyers and Devils been tanking intentionally? Nope...they've been winning what seems like every game since being eliminated. Professional athletes don't think about whether their team will drop from 7th overall to 9th in the draft if they win. They play to win. Period.
Especially since finishing in 2nd would guarantee home ice advantage in round 2 should they win the first round. Finishing 4th would most likely mean starting on the road in the second round. These are pros not amateurs, I seriously doubt they would lose on purpose...
