Oh, I always forget the profit part.

If this is a long term build they are doing an awful job at it.
Yeah, I’d like to hear more details about our strategic rebuild please.

I’ve heard it was super clear though so it should be easy to dig up quotes illuminating it though, I’m sure.

McCann's a total loser in Seattle? He's led the team in points every year he's been there and potted 40 (more than any Penguin that year) in 2022-23, the same year Kraken came within 2 goals of advancing to the Western Conference Finals after knocking off champion Avs. Twice team MVP. Maybe we need more total losers? Granted Kraken were one of the league's worst offensive teams in two of those three years, but the Pens were hardly juggernauts, lounging between league average and below average in two of the three as well.

Yes. He stunk in that playoff run and is a classic example of a decent player on a bad team having his production over inflated.

I would like to see this because I’ve only seen him talk in vague, nebulous, corporate speak.
This is a very unfortunate post. Why? Because time and time again his plan has been spelled out. If you want to suggest it's ''nebulous corporate speak'' that's your prerogative. Sounds as if many here just don't want to accept it.

That's the issue here really. It's not that you don't know what the plan is. It's that you don't want to accept what the plan is. It's very obvious.

If it is a long term build this post makes no sense. Why? Because a long term build takes time. So, to conclude anything at this point is foolish. Why? Because it's a long term build.

The issue with you and so many here is that you want a quick fix because you're tethered to dinosaurs who don't deserve your loyalty. There is no quick fix, there is no calvary coming just over them thar hills.

That's the issue, not the plan itself, it's your impatience. You want it all and you want it now!

I am open to changing my mind. Just provide me where he has given this clear direction you keep referencing.

Moving Jake Guentzel for what he did is not attempting a long term build.
Moving Yager for McG is not an attempt at a long term build.

"When this (Penguins) team started contending, L.A. wasn't contending yet," Dubas said. "Then (the Kings) won twice, then they missed the playoffs and acquired some high picks. Now they're a contender again, they're a very good team. The Rangers were contending when the Penguins were contending. The Rangers went through their own pivot, and now they just won the Presidents' Trophy."

Dubas himself has said this team is not going through a long term rebuild.

He was hired February 2021, pens won the division that year. That was Rutherford's team

Rutherford left because he wasn’t allowed to tear that team apart.

Anyways, I don’t feel like arguing with a bunch of head in mud people about Hextall.

My original comment was that the team’s Dubas has constructed have no attraction and nothing excitable.

McG for Yager will not impact this team for a year or two at best. Trading Jake for the player, prospects and pick we acquired is also not a sign of a quick turnaround. Taking on cap dumps like Hayes and Glass for future draft capital also suggests it'll take time. Trading Smith and Ruhwedel for picks and then using a 4th to get Tomasino could help now but not to any large degree.

This isn't a quick fix. If so he wouldn't have accrued all the picks and prospects he has.

Now _that_ was an entertaining game from start to finish.
Mostly the penguins looking pathetic physically.
I usually watch 'away' (but i mean the other teams broadcast) and tonight I listened to the penguins feed... that guy is worse than mears. Pure delusion from this guy all around... laugh you out of your job level bad. I can't even directly quote one of them, but... "this penguins crowd is highly educated and they are letting the officials know it" is so just so awful and desperate attempts to feign unwavering support.
Speaking of away feeds, the columbus game had mears on.... also awful, just a different kind of pathetic.

After the 2nd or 3rd goal... why did Sid go flying into the boards? Lost his edge?

You mean like… Mikael Granlund.

Fair comp 100%

Then why has Dubas consistently said his focus is on a pivot and not a full rebuild?

Oh I see, so you see these moves and believe it's a quick fix?

You're as gullible as Sid apparently. None of these moves suggest it's a quick fix.

He's also stated he's not trading high draft picks UNLESS he gets a proven young NHLer ready to contribute now or a move like McG for Yager. Sure something could fall into his lap I guess, and it's good to keep your options open. But it's not likely at all.

And he has stated that short of that he's keeping those high picks.

Seriously, IF you're a win now team you don't trade Jake. At that moment THAT should have been a clear indication as to his intentions.

This is the most clear I’ve seen Dubas about what he’s doing. I must have missed since he likes to talk so much.

It’s also an awful plan. If Sid and Geno were in their early 30s it would make sense but by the time any picks start producing they’ll be out of the league.

Unless he thinks that some combination of McG, Koivunen, Pono, and Broz are going to save a bunch of pushing 40 superstars.

Not really i mean just cause he is not hurt doesn't mean he isn't shaken up about it. If you were in a bad car accident but didnt get hurt would you want to go to work a couple hours later?
Doesn't even really say he's not hurt at all. Just says he's ok.

Bunting in car accident

Per Mike Sullivan, Michael Bunting was in a car accident outside PPG Paints Arena on his way to the game. He is OK but won’t play tonight.

I saw the wreck on the walk in, both the car and Bunting’s truck looked pretty messed up and had to be towed away. The car had damage to the whole front, Bunting’s truck took most of the damage to the front driver’s side. It was at the intersection of Washington and Center, right next to the arena and around the corner from the player’s garage.

So, Phil Tomasino presumably draws back in tonight. Tristan Jarry will start.

So expect another shut out in other words…lol

“Lightning goaltender Jonas Johansson is expected to start Sunday’s game. In nine games this season, Johansson has a 4-3-1 record, a 3.32 goals-against average, an .898 save percentage and one shutout. … Johansson has faced the Penguins twice in his career, posting a 0-2-0 record, a 4.13 goals-against average and an .862 save percentage”

It's awful, how so? Tell me, what has this core won in the last six plus years when they constantly traded 1st rounders and perpetually mortgaged the future, yet didn't even win a playoff round? That is what is awful. THIS CORE is done winning! ACCEPT IT!

The Pens I'm sure will be worried about their team mate. Not sure they'll be able to perform up to par. Should be interesting.

Bunting is a heart and soul guy. The rest of the team is largely made up of cowards.
