When he's on his game he's world class. The problem currently ...... is simply inconsistency.
 
Deflection in front of the net, breakaway, odd man rush. When Hank is going good, he stops one or two of those, and he stops them all when he's going great, but these aren't soft goals.

You need to wake up. Goalies don't decline at his age. He's been the best goalie in the league for years. Look past this exact second and realize that he's in a slump.

We aren't as good as the Blackhawks for a million reasons, the biggest of which is that this franchise will never wallow in absolute failure enough to get the picks necessary to even have the chance to be lucky enough to draft like the Hawks did to set up this team.

You can pretty much expect more of this in the playoffs.

You probably wouldn't know what it technically took to butterfly side that quick across the crease and time it perfectly to make the save, which is probably the reason why you don't understand what the issue is.

Teams score goals. Thats the game of hockey. You give a team odd man rushes, and prime scoring chances and they are going to get buried. No NHL goalie continually stops high-quality scoring chance after another. Eventually some are going to find the twine.

Be honest with everybody. Forget that you are a nigtime Hank fan(which is fine). Has hank had a good year this year?

No, I am not blindly defending Lundqvist. Acting like he is the sole reason for this team's demise is ridiculous, though. Maybe we should start scoring instead of padding our shot totals every night.

This is driving me nuts in particular.

Girardi throws the puck away on a no look back pass. He thinks Cally's going to the point, but he's actually at the top of the circle looking to shoot.

He has a really good push to the outside, and the spinning pass to Richards in the slot.

He's got at ton of hits, has been finishing every check, blocked a few shots.

But lets not forget, he's talentless, getting pushed around, and isn't doing anything.

Bob is making saves. Lundqvist is not.
What horrible timing on his mega contract. Now with Talbot certainly moving on as a FA as soon as he can, and clearly outplaying "the King", we are stuck with Henrik. The New Henrik made of holes...
You won't find me bashing the guy much, but now that this team has a giant anchor around its neck for the rest of the decade with a NMC, he's going to be the starter . Question is, is this what we are to expect? Is the goaltender we have grown accustomed to and love ever coming back, or is this ... Crap now what we are dealing with?
I don't even believe that the biggest Hank Homer can honestly stick up for him without blind loyalty at this point.
I have been watching NHL for close to 30 years, and cannot recall a goalie going from the level Hank has been to a sieve so dramatically fast.

This proves you aren't watching the same game, or you don't bother watching the slow motion replays to see what actually happened.

Rewind your DVR my friend, and you will see a puck shot, hit off a skate, and then deflected off the skate deflection by Dubinsky into the net.

Double deflection, yet thats a garbage goal by Lundqvist?

I have been playing and teaching goal for 15 years, and am actually offended someone who plays goal could have such a ridiculous opinion.

In the salary cap era, a goalie with his cap hit needs to be consistently winning games for us. This year he isn't.

Which year did Henrik win the Vezina? It couldn't have been the same year that the Rangers had their best season since 1994 could it have been? :amazed:
