Hank stopped standing on his head and we are a .500 club. Welcome to reality folks, past 2 years were outliers. Nash set this org back a few years.

Wow, one breakaway. Give him a medal!

No, I am not blindly defending Lundqvist. Acting like he is the sole reason for this team's demise is ridiculous, though. Maybe we should start scoring instead of padding our shot totals every night.

This is funny. Atkinsons breakaway gave his team the lead. Bobrovsky's save on the breakaway prevented the game from being tied.

And im not blaming Lundqvist as much as im crediting Bobrovsky.

Im not blaming anything on Lundqvist. I just dont like it when he plays, because the team loses. I like the team better when theyre winning. Crazy idea, huh?

Just stating facts.

Could someone say something more original or insightful than "OMG HANK STOP THAT PUCK". I mean, it's not like we're giving up odd man rushes every other play and leaving a player with a wicked shot wide open.

Oh, wait.

It's really simple. Hank is just not making the BIG saves that he was before. He seems vulnerable and he's sitting deeper in the net than even usual. He has lost his confidence. He's not playing well.

Well I disagree, he had a lot of speed there, and he knew the direction would send Tyutin into the boards. I removed my homer glasses and could see it was dangerous play.

Anyway, a game misconduct usually means an automatic suspension until it has been reviewed, he probably wont play on Wednesday.
Ok thats a fair point but What if Zuccarello did the same thing?

I mean, maybe he went down too fast but I don't think it was a soft goal. He's given up way worse goals and was completely absolved. Still in prior years he probably makes that save. I

It was far from a soft goal.

The problem is, he has to make a big save every now and again.

He's really starting to remind me of Mike Richter in 1997-98. Just the inability to make a big save at a key time in the game. Not that he was BAD, but he (and now Hank) have to make that save the opponent's goaltender is routinely making.

The defense sucks. Strålman screwed up on 2nd goal. Noone payed attention to wiz on the Third. Great pass by Duby, but still bad deffending. And what about the first one. Duby alone in the slot. Even if Hank had made the save, Duby would just score on the rebound. Yes Girardi was hit hard into the Boards, but the other D should cover for him.

If the rangers score those goals, we would be praising their deflection and sniping skills.

Precisely!

Those were some cool goals. Skilled goals. Goals that our defense need to think long and hard on.

Hank needs to make a save, but lets not discredit the other team. It's not the CBJ of 2 years ago out there.

No exaggeration. They'll play one of them 3 or 4 times consecutively, break and then play the next one three more times. Its absolutely ridiculous.

Might seriously challenge "Leaving the gate open".

That was our battle cry during our best season. That commercial has a special place in my heart. :sarcasm:

You could say that all three goals Lundqvist gave up were all great chances, the thing is... in years past he would have some how saved one of them.

He just signed an elite contract to be elite goalie in this league for years to come.... I'm sorry but he should definitely be held to a higher standard.

Four players.

And, yet, we still have people going off on one player.

I wouldnt really say that. Everyone's getting **** on equally more or less depending on the play. Richards cant shoot, girardi making dumb passes, MDZ making dumb passes, Brassard with bad decisions.... ad infinitum.

It's just Hank has been in the spotlight 3 times already tonight.

So basically in your mind Hank is flawless and makes no mistakes? I mean im as big of Hank fan as anybody and i have defended him a lot but im not afraid to be critical of him when he doesnt play well

I get on Lundqvist for EVERY soft goal he gives up. Go back to November 12th against the Devils...I screamed as loud as I could at him from section 420 when Ryan Carter took that soft back handed shot and beat him right between the legs. THAT is an example of a soft goal.

Every goalie gives up soft goals in a year, but Lundqvist is getting beat on prime chances by the other team, and complete breakdowns by the team in front of him. He isn't the problem this year. Put him on Pittsburgh or Chicago, San Jose, and Anaheim, and you would see him leading his way to another Vezina.

The team in front of him SUCKS, and he can't be super human every night like he was in Dallas earlier this season.

Teams score goals, its part of the game. How about we learn how to do that?

Currently 24th in the league out of 30 in scoring...

And it's exactly that kind of ******** that permeates these message boards lately. 2 of those 3 goals, we let the D off the hook, again?

Notice I said the word "again," because this isn't the first and I highly doubt it will be the last time this season where someone does something truly pathetic with the puck.
