How is this two moms bit even a story? Who really cares?

you haven't seen the responses when organizations hold LGBT days have you?

It may not be a story in a state like CA, but in other states this is still something that fans/players think should be shunned (sadly)

Anderson-Dolan is a beauty. A few years from now there will be regrets from those that missed out. You may hear he rode Yamamoto's coattails but i went to enough of his games to call bull on that.
Great pick, works hard and plays smart.

Wow! Are you serious?

Scouts look at all factors when considering whether to draft someone and rely on probability. Of course his moms could both be tough and raise him strong, but scouts probably look at it and think odds are he is soft because raised by two feminine figures.

LOL

Breh. GTHO with that nonsense.

What of all the NFL players raised by single mothers? Are those kids feminine, too?

Is our kid doubly feminine? If he was raised by a single mom he'd be "masculine?"

Cringeworthy post is cringeworthy.

Bro, you may feel that way and that's cool. But it's well documented that scouts look at everything, including if someone was raised by a single mom, if there was alcohol or drug abuse in family, work ethic, essentially everything. If it was just about numbers, they wouldn't do in person interviews. Some scouts may look at two moms as positive some may see it as potentially negative, while others might not care. But you are kidding yourself if you think they ignore family background.

The kids probably tough as nails having to deal with other kids being *******s about it. kind of like a boy named sue situation. :badidea: :dunno:

I follow three sports religiously and have never seen this. Many, many players are picked in the top of the draft in all of the major sports that come from broken homes, single mothers, drugs, even gang backgrounds.

His having two mothers is a non-factor, other than idiots who are socially insensitive. He was drafted right around where he was projected after the under-18 tourney where he underperformed. Hell, Yannetti said it for ya, hoss. It was a nonstarter for the org.

Link, por favor. Otherwise it's just hearsay and ignorance.

"A scout also has to know about a player's background. Has he had any scrapes with the law? What kind of neighborhood did he grow up in? How many brothers and sisters does he have? Does he come from a two-parent home? What is the background of his parents and siblings? This is all important information that a scouting director and a General Manager has to know."

I was more cheering the first half of good ol' Frito's post, but I hear ya, PJ :)

Thanks, Trout. Glad to get some forward talent added to the system. I won't be seeing dev camp next week, but I'm hoping for reports on the prospects, particularly this year's class and Eyssimont and Clague.

That's a link focusing on a player's character. You're saying having 2 mothers shows a potential for our kid having bad character?

It also explains, as I did, that even players from questionable backgrounds (and our kid isn't in this group), still get chosen high when the talent calls for it. Only when repeated offenses occur, does it usually damage a player's stock. Still, the link isn't pertinent to what we're talking about.

I wanna see something about a player coming from an LGBT family and how it hurts his draft stock. And spare me the Michael Sam bulljive (in case you were gonna go there), he sucked, that's why he's out of the league.

Well, you did insinuate he may be less masculine. L. O. F. L.

Don't mention it, PJ, brother!

I can't wait for the incoming reports; like yourself, I hope we get some!

I don't give a **** if someone had two moms, no moms, an alien mom, is black, white, Asian, Latino, gay, straight, bi, etc. The only thing that matters is if you're good at your job or not. None of this **** matters. Focusing on this nonsense is a loser mentality. Live your life and be a decent person. If you aren't harming me, I don't care.

Again you can disagree and that's fine but scouts consider everything. Like that article said they see if someone came from a two parent home. Obviously an athlete may be raised properly by one parent but scouts look at that issue and weigh it.

See also "Fair or not, Sam’s combine performance may be even more important because he came out. The day he told the world he is gay, Sports Illustrated quoted anonymous NFL insiders saying that his sexuality would impact his draft status. "
