A great point. Watching Vilardi vs Kupari is a good example. Vilardi is slow but thinks the game fast. He's really good at anticipating plays a second or two before they develop. Kupari on the other hand is quite fast but seems pretty clueless in that regard... which is a shame as I had high hopes for him. Since getting sent down, he's looked even worse in ONT.

Wagner too--Kupari still developing imo so I don't want to rag him too hard, but Wagner is a great example of one of the fastest guys on earth with low hockey IQ. He's got grit, size, speed, and a pretty wicked shot when he can uncork it--but unfortunately bricks for brains.

An old coach of mine said one time that no one can outskate a puck. If you can move the puck quickly and efficiently it's far more important than being able to outskate everyone. You need to know what to do with it first.

I still think Vilardi can be a force on this team. He has so much skill and size and thinks the game at a high level.

It s a shame he gets so little time on ice. Personally i would have him replace Lizzote as 3c He's bigger and better offensively I would say he close defensively as well His defensive game would get better with ice time
