That’s actually a good idea, particularly when it comes to goalie screens. Unfortunately, that kind of stuff would be hard to measure objectively.

Sure, but in a system where advances stats are so prominent, I'd like to see some kind of metric which weighs goal contributions in a way that accounts for influential non-pass plays and discounts less influential pass plays.

Some secondary assists are important. Others are coincidental. I'd wager we'd get that right more than half of the time.

It'll never be perfect, but I'd have more interest in that than just the shot metrics we have now as a proxy for puck possession.

This has been the best they've played in a long time. There's an actual semblance of a system out there. Trouba really playing like a stud dman.
Yea it looks like a system. Problem is, it’s kind of really f***ing boring. Not that I prefer an exciting team over a good team.

And I agree about Trouba

Of course. Advanced metrics in hockey have come a long way, but there is still a lot of room for improvement. Hockey is just such a fast, random, and “subjective” sport in general

Sam very close to saying Honda instead of Hyundai

I'm pretty sure in my entire life whenever I have heard Joe say the Rangers have been the much better team at 5v5 the Rangers have either been tied or losing.

My goodness see what happens when you play good D
