Maybe. He's picking up a lot of the pieces from the previous GM.
People said Sakic sucks as GM for a while.

Sakic does suck, his Assistant GM was doing a lot of the hard work for him while he took on a legacy role and was learning as he went along, now he's President where he should be and Chris McFarland, who has done most of the magic for the Avs and has been one of the GM's that's always at the top of other teams' list if available, is their GM.

Allvin just isn't good. He let a lot of solid, inexpensive bottom 6 talent go, players that did the hard 2-way game for a team that needed those types. They prioritized Miller (of whom they should have dealt for a D-man) and had to move away glue players and couldn't upgrade their D and JR now talks about being in cap issues that they are getting out of, lol.
