Did u just say he singlehandedly gave up the second goal? Either you didn't see the play or....there's no response for such silliness. He didn't quit. He read a different pass than what happened. Remember, JVR is ahead of Asham so he can't see Kessel. Unbelievable.

Not sure what Asham and JVR have to do with Kessel?

coming back into the zone, (skating towards Hank) JVR and Asham are to McD's left, Kessel to his right.

When the pass got through I immeadiately thought "Why did McD stop skating" It looked like he slowed up.

Just looked at it again and McD clearly held up enough for that pass to have gotten through.

Dupuis is far more skilled than Cally and a lot faster. He also has better hockey sense.

:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

Quoting for hilarity. Seriously?

demoting? That's where he belongs

Again, really? In what world is Callahan a 3rd line player? The guys is a legitimate top-6 RW on pretty much any team in the league.

i was doing an impression but yes, he needs to either be matched up against players that will falter more readily to his grind and "not a third line x factor" or he needs distractions on a line that's clicking. He was atrocious tonight and hasn't been great lately either so a third line game might help him especially since he's going to still be getting 23 a game.

Callahan has been fine. You're over-reacting to (1) game.

You can put a lot of labels on Zuccarello. "Soft" however isn't one of them.

Agreed.

Also, for those that think we are just going to magically beat the Islanders on Saturday. The isles are 7-1-1 in their past 9 games.

Saturday could very well be one of the ugliest games of the season for the NYR.

Saturday could also be the Rangers most dominating win of the season! See what I did there? I predicted the future too.

Honestly, I would prefer giving the team a day off and put Tortorella in goalie gear for the evening. Let Sullivan block shots.

Torts dogs can manage the bench....

Why do you watch this team play? Seriously.

Well, They couldn't beat the pens and we took 3 of 4 pts from them following, By logic this should be a cake walk :sarcasm:

Exactly

Kreider wasn't very good in his first stint. It didn't help Kreider was playing with a foot injury. He was better in his second stint. Holding onto the puck. Making plays. Playing with an edge. The Rangers are really up against it. They don't have time to deal with growing pains when every play is so huge in 48 game season. Playoffs are a different animal. Boston and Pitt have many injuries to key players. The Rangers can beat Washington. Its always the same people complaining.

Yeah...OK...Cally is just better than him at checking, scoring, stick handling, PK, PP, and everything else...

Right, he read a pass other than to the goal scorer closest to the goal.

Wasn't like it was a 3 on 1.

The Rangers are 4-1-1 in the past 6...

I can use magical borders too.

They don't exactly have a difficult schedule down the stretch here. They're tied with the Isles in points and every other game is against teams that are below them in the standings. 5-2-1 should be pretty likely and good enough to get them in.

Now hold on there Charlie, you just contradicted yourself.

In no way will a low seed playing poor hockey "advance deep" in to the playoffs. What you meant to say was, "low seeds who WERE playing poorly." That is exactly the reason people continue to criticize this team, especially after last post-season. You don't get to the SCF by scraping by and playing mediocre hockey.

Nope, no contradiction.

Plenty of mediocre teams ride a hot goaltender, or turn it on late. The Kings were playing mediocre heading into the playoffs last year.

They are 4-1-1 btw.

I wonder how many goals Callahan could score if he had Crosby centering him.

Nah, scratch that. Sidney is siphoning off of Dupuis. What a loser.

Again, you said the same thing but now in a different way. "Heading in to the playoffs" is not the same as IN in the playoffs. They were not mediocre in the playoffs, at all. Big difference.

4-1-1 and the most "impressive" win was against a tired and injured Pens team right after two big trades. But yeah, I know, I should be super appreciative and happy with mediocrity rather than point out what needs to improve before the playoffs. It's great they're staying afloat here but if anyone is convinced the way this team is playing right now will get them anywhere notable in the playoffs you are delusional. They have to be better, it's that simple.

Dupuis was 7th in the NHL in ESP/60 last year in a shutdown role when Crosby only played 22 games. He had no consistent linemates that year, but usually played with Staal, Cooke, and Sullivan who weren't close to his level of production. He was also one of the leagues premier defensive forwards.

Dupuis > Callahan at even strength ANIEC.

Dupuis is a millionaire's Hagelin.

I'm glad the Kings beat the Devils last year, but I hate it at the same time.

Now the 'Kings won it as the 8th seed' will be used to shade out the mediocrity within the organization.

They've had maybe 2-3 games where they look like a dominant team in a 40 game season so far.
