The only fault Sather has is that he has put too much faith in a blind prophet. As I said earlier, I respect that Sather backs up the coach. But Torts is not the man to put that faith in.

Sather has done his as much as he can to cater to Torts. He went out of his way to get players to conform to Tort's style. Torts still can't put it together.

Eventually, Sather will recognize this. I just hope we won't have to go through another full season for the brain wave to happen.

Torts has offically moved into Mike D'antoni territory for me.
 
The Rangers have played one decent game in the past ten or so (vs Pittsburgh), and that was against an exhausted, injured team. Otherwise, it's all been Lundqvist bailing this garbage team out.
 
2 points we desperately needed. Devils lost as well which makes it so much sweeter.

Ya know what was different in that game?

Rangers were getting in front of the net, shooting through traffic, and fishing for rebounds.

After that?

The Rangers reverted right back to being a perimeter shooting team.

Ah, but Slats "coaches the coaches". He will never hire a coach he can't control, or might overshadow or challenge him. The best the Rangers can hope for under Slats is an inoffensive, unproven nobody like Renney or Low, who will also employ a grinding, defensive style. This franchise will never be successful until Jimmy Cablebuck$ puts Slats out to pasture, and that just won't happen.

Cally is a great banger and grinder. But he just doesn't have the creativity to be a consistent threat.

Your telling me the pens wouldn't rather have Cally on the first line instead of Dupuis?
 
Dupuis is far more skilled than Cally and a lot faster. He also has better hockey sense.
 
Callahan is Dupuis? Lol, there's a reason that Pens fans were so happy that Dupuis was going "back to grinding" when they got Iggy. I can score goals with Crosby.

Torts is a winner, D'Antoni is not. Torts' coaching has a shelf life, but he has shown he can win. We're 4-1-1 in the last 6 and while not playing great we're doing what we haven't all year: finding ways to win
 
Cally played like he had something weighing heavily on his mind tonight (Not that I would know). I've never seen him play so lethargic before.
 
No, he wasn't more than a third liner, but neither is Callahan. Dupuis just has a skillset that meshes better with Crosby.

On no planet is Dupuis a better hockey player than Cally. Imagine Cally on Sidney or Malkins right side.
 
I just got back from the game. Can someone explain to me how that second goal against happen?

Aside from that, I thought they played an excellent game. Maybe a few mistakes, but overall, I'm happy.

Could it be that Cally and Girardi do most of the dirty work for this team and they have just taken a beating? while the likes of Brad get to float around. Just an observation because when we didn't have Cally in the lineup earlier in the year this team was a bunch of zombies out there. No heart.
 
We will be so much better come playoffs. I believe kreider brassard zuccs would work and kreider will be back. Dorsett brings grit and solid two way play. He can also penalty kill which is huge for us, will allow torts to keep top horses off pk. Staal is a top ten d in this league.

We won't be an easy out if we get in despite our coach.

No it's because this team plays like garbage for long spurts of the game.

Look at the thread when we lost in the back2back vs. Pittsburgh. That was a great effort.

The team's play will reflect the emotions on the board imo.
