Benching offensive players in the 3rd when you're losing 4-3 is just a bad idea. What is it going to accomplish? It's not the only way to teach them not to take a penalty or do something. Because Skjei was benched Staal played 8 minutes in the third pairing when they were down by 1.

Well they did but I don't think they're really going to drop down to 4D. DeAngelo and Fox got ice time together. You could alternatively play 4 forwards and 1 defenseman but almost nobody every does that.

I'm not surprised either. I figured they'd be more or less a bubble team, and they've been pretty much that.

Yeah against Carolina - almost the same play except that one was to the other side of the ice. Skjei is just incapable of playing a mistake free game. He just doesn't have the hockey IQ to be anything more than he is, the guy is the king of making unforced errors. He can have plenty of time and space and still make a bad play.

I thought Mika had an off night. Seemed like the puck was just bouncing off of his stick all night and he was always a step behind. I thought the entire top 6 had an off night. Strome looked pretty bad tonight too and Panarin was mostly quiet.

Anyone want to try and convince me that Columbus or the islanders have more talent than we do? They most certainly don’t. How about Pitt right now wirh all the injuries? All winning mostly every night. They have coaching and structure. We do not. Quinn is the biggest problem in this org right now. Was a bad hire probably by necessity since no one wanted the job of a team tearing it down. But now? Wirh the guys we have? No way should we not be playing better hockey. No way. This coaching staff needs to go and soon

Oh the last 10 mins sure. I meant the whole period. I'd just play the 3 RD+Skjei or the 3RD only and a 4th forward.
