He shouldve been benched way before that. Literally.Skjei literally got benched for taking a bad penalty earlier in the period
Howden was fine.Good ol' Canadian boy like Brett Howden. Quinn trying to build this franchise with Howden McKegg over Kakko and Andersson.
Its not.He turned the puck over countless times tonight leading to a goal and a few other chances that Hank bailed his ass out on.I understand thats hard for you to see.Classic overreaction. That’s fine. But I believe you’re wrong.

Benching offensive players in the 3rd when you're losing 4-3 is just a bad idea. What is it going to accomplish? It's not the only way to teach them not to take a penalty or do something. Because Skjei was benched Staal played 8 minutes in the third pairing when they were down by 1.
At least he’s learning from his mistakes.I think it was last week Brady did a very similar turn over that also cost us a goal. From the exact position.
How many minutes a night is Smith getting as a forward at this point? Move him back there until Hajek is cleared. For real, just let a RD eat those minutes.
Staal had probably his best game of the season, but he is the last guy I want out there down by one (well, pretty much at any time, but especially down by 1.)

Well they did but I don't think they're really going to drop down to 4D. DeAngelo and Fox got ice time together. You could alternatively play 4 forwards and 1 defenseman but almost nobody every does that.
Overall, this really is a garbage product being put out there.
Is it really though?
They've had games where they've been good, they've had more games where they've been bad. This is kind of what I expected in terms of results.
Yeah against Carolina - almost the same play except that one was to the other side of the ice. Skjei is just incapable of playing a mistake free game. He just doesn't have the hockey IQ to be anything more than he is, the guy is the king of making unforced errors. He can have plenty of time and space and still make a bad play.I think it was last week Brady did a very similar turn over that also cost us a goal. From the exact position.
I thought Mika had an off night. Seemed like the puck was just bouncing off of his stick all night and he was always a step behind. I thought the entire top 6 had an off night. Strome looked pretty bad tonight too and Panarin was mostly quiet.Anyone else see Mika’s abject frustration and disappointment in the post game? Sad.
Last 10 minutes of the game? He absolutely should have when they were at ES.
