Yeah, that's probably the exact reasons no goalies were named. Go with the hand hot as we get closer to the tourney. A rare inspired move by the USA Hockey brass. Great start, but let's see if they give into the "role player" and/or "team concept" trap. I can see certain centers playing the wing, but lets not go with a 4th line for of plumbers. My idea of a "plumber" line would consist of the likes of Larkin and Kreider.I'm a bit surprised they didn't name Helle but I like it. He would have been a worthy addition but goalies are so fickle choose them last based on who's playing well.
If Jack Hughes is left off this team I'm moving to Canada.I'm not surprised on Jack Hughes other than USAH is 100% the kind of federation who'd want to name 2 brothers to the team at the same time for publicity. If he's healthy he'll make the team, though.
Amazing that we didn't win the 2016 WJC.Also pretty wild that half of the top 6 named came from a single birth year-1997.
Eichel the 96 played with those boys though, so 4 out of 6 names were teammates at some point for USNDP (Fox a 98 played with the 97s too).. all USNDP named.
Insert CHL bias posts lol...
Too soon brother...too soon...

It has a lot of the right names, but Harley competes for Canada.
Yeah, I wouldn't have Harley anyway. Would prefer Sanderson. I also question how many small, finesse forwards we will have. Especially with a recent quote about "roles." I think Hughes, Kane, Connor and Guentzel will make it but that may be it.Mike Morreale won't ever let basic facts get in the way.
We better not go as small as his forward group, too, with Caufield, Hughes, Keller, and Guentzel.
I'd be happy with this team, with the exception of J.T. Miller missing.For the squad as of today:
Brady Tkachuk (A) - Auston Matthews - Matthew Tkachuk
Jason Robertson - Vincent Trocheck - Jack Hughes
Chris Kreider - Jack Eichel - Patrick Kane (C)
Kyle Connor - Dylan Larkin (A) - Matthew Boldy
Alex Tuch/Tage Thompson
Quinn Hughes - Adam Fox
Zach Werenski - Charlie McAvoy
Jaccob Slavin - John Carlson
Jake Sanderson - Seth Jones
Connor Hellebuyck
Jake Oettinger
Jeremy Swayman
This is not an IIHF tournament, so I don't know why people are talking about "Team USA". This is an NHL tournament.
Players participation history in the useless "World Championship" that happens every year is irrelevant.
Those clowns have Caufield over Kreider? Then list Harley who is Canadian?NHL.com's roster: U.S. projected roster for 2025 NHL 4 Nations Face-Off | NHL.com

Since it isn't the Olympics, it will be Jones & Gaudreau.So which questionable players will be in the mix? My picks:
* Bryan Rust
* Johnny Gaudreau
* Blake Coleman
* Seth Jones
* Jacob Trouba

Just for the pure marketing and attention, I think Quinn, Jack and Luke will make the team...To be able to say you have 3 brothers on the same elite squad like this is pretty freaking special. Obviously Jack and Quinn will be here, but Luke has shown up multiple times for the WC and wouldn't be a fish out of water here- that's my hot take.So which questionable players will be in the mix? I'd take him over Jones for sure.Just for the pure marketing and attention, I think Quinn, Jack and Luke will make the team...To be able to say you have 3 brothers on the same elite squad like this is pretty freaking special. Seems like most rosters are leaving off one of Kreider or Miller, and-unless I’m blanking on someone- as far as I can remember those are the only two wingers on virtually any roster mock that PK.I'd be happy with this team, with the exception of J.T. Miller missing.
Correct team USA finna stomp a mudhole in that azzI think you guys will win this tournament.
Signed a Canadian
Just for broader awareness, Boldy is currently doing extra-curriculars with the Wild bubble guys to learn the PK, hinted to likely be a suggestion from Guerin due to this need. I am guessing some other guys have been given notice of the PK desires for the roster but not sure who beyond Boldy.Seems like most rosters are leaving off one of Kreider or Miller, and-unless I’m blanking on someone- as far as I can remember those are the only two wingers on virtually any roster mock that PK.
Both of them probably have to be on this squad as non-extras.
