You are comparing 2 rosters that won't be the Olympics rosters. The 4 Nations doesn't matter, it's a preparation tourney.

It think that's a contradiction. One of the reasons the players are taking this seriously is precisely because of the Olympics and trying to leave a lasting memory for the next selection.

We can go down the list of canadian goalies today or two years from now. There's no potential hall of famers from canada like there has always been going back since I started following the league about 35 years ago.

They talked about this on one of broadcasts last week. The players refused to start the season earlier so the compressed schedule will stay.

Which seems kind of dumb now that they are cutting down on the pre-season crap.
The players can still report to their teams on the same date and simply start officially a week earlier.
The season started on Oct 8th for most teams while Buffalo and New Jersey started on the 4th.
There is no reason not to start on Oct 1st.

I don't know. But he is exactly the kind of player to be a second centerman during 2 season of 5/6 years contract and become a 3rd line centerman overpaid, he is playing a strong/tough game

Like most other teams, their best selling point would be to build a legitimate contender. It's not an inherently strong attraction for most players in any other circumstance.

TD Garden is idle today, so there would be no scheduling conflicts either if they played today.

I'm not sure what the thought process was to space out the final like this. Only thing I can think of is that Wednesday is typically not a heavily used day in the nhl world compared to Thursday (for whatever reason)

If they want to move forward with a tournament without the IIHF then have to hire better more intelligent people to organize it and sit down with players from other countries. There's too many dominant players who can't attend,

Are Slovakian and Czech players open to play together in a team and which name the team should be? Then you add an European team and when the conflict in Ukraine is over you bring back russians.
