Bettman and friends are Americans… And Jacobs is the Bruins owner, the real president of this league.

Anyway, they played at the Bell 4 games vs 3 in Boston.

Pending Trump tax cuts are looking to significantly reduce taxes on bonuses / options etc, which are already low federal rate to begin with
For the big corporations and his billionnaire friends, first.

But not to the point of leaving a million on the table for most guys. NYR pays a lot for their guys look at their contracts they don't get them cheap at all.

It depends if he moves forward with the special canadian taxes. He's threatening to double the taxes of Canadians working in USA and Canadian companies operating in USA. That would put the federal taxes of Canadian athletes who are not nationalized to about 70% i think.
All the Canadian NHL players for US based teams get their green card (landed immigrant status) within 6-12 months of starting off with the US team. Like Huberdeau most end up staying in US 6-months + 1-day during calendar season which means they’re taxed as US residents vs Canadian

Many of whom like my cousin Vinny of the Panthers own sports franchises and employ multimillionaire athletes who they try to attain success with

Trump likes being associated w his pro athletes and will lookout for them - and he’s a huge hockey fan w Mtl Canadiens amongst his favorites FWIW…

We have one more game against Boston in April. If Army isn't traded, you know someone on Boston, if not McAvoy himself, is going after him.

Bad crosscheck, although the AC injury leading to an infection is definitely weird. USA med staff screw up.... ?
Armia with a dirty crosscheck on McAvoy, oh well.

That's a given. Guys generally don't leave money on the table when they are moving location.

I think the lure of new york is that you get the best mix of being able to enjoy the big city amenities, lightest travel in the league, yet you still get to live like a small fish in a big pond.

Army wants to get Habs in the playoffs & will stop at nothing, including weakening his competition for that last wildcard spot…:sarcasm:

I'll reserve judgment re. "sham", mostly because I think the traditional All-Star game is an even bigger sham (read: pure shit), no matter the reason(s) for show-casing it. I've posted before that I'd rather see something like Rendez-Vous '87 than the trash heap that is the annual All-Star game. The four nations thingie might not live up to Rendez-Vous '87, but it’s gotta be better than the fastest skater, hardest shot, or all those other skill challenges I couldn’t give a single shit about, only to be capped off by whatever the f*** they call that "game" that only barely resembles hockey because of the ice and a puck. Now, if you want to know how I really feel about the All-Star break, just ask me:biglaugh:
Do what you want man, semi-free world and all. The NHL all-star game is not a sham, it's not marketed as some intense meaningful event. This however is and the prices to attend are astronomical. :shakehead

How about the stanley cup defending champions?

It would be interesting to see if playing together for several years is better then raw talent!
Could have that but it will weaken some countries more than other and Finland is already borderline let's say you would have Florida in the current tournament not sure Finland could ice a team.
