I got Olise from 10. What did you get?
Oh hell yeah, that’s awesome. Like $1m, I think? I remember almost every pro was using his Thunderstruck card during the Pro Open and I’ve tried him on my brothers account. I assume the GG is even more nuts, especially if you’re good at outside the box finesses. His L1 speed boost is also crazy.

I lucked out and got Drogba. Kinda funny that his two playstyle+’s are what EA nerfed into the ground (headers and power shots) but he’s still absolutely insane. Way better than his stats make it look. I understand the hype from the past 18 months now.

Also, in case you didnt know, if you do an evo that gives a player the Grassroots Great card background then that player also gives +2 chem to club/country/league like the normal GG players. Including evos like the tikitaka+ or +1* weak foot, I believe.

What are people’s thoughts on AC Shadows?

I know it’s very popular to hate on Ubisoft (some of its definitely deserved) but I’ve had a bunch of mindless fun with AC games recently (Origins & Odyssey).

depends on if they went back and tightened it up like the early entries or if it is the huge open world of the later entries...origins, odyssey and valhalla were too big for me

I've also had a lot of fun with some Ubisoft games, mainly the Far Cry series (co-op with a buddy), which is all meant to be ridiculous anyway, so causing havoc together is great.

I liked the first 3-4 AC games, then like @trostol , I kinda burned out on the series. Valhalla started off ok, but I remember at one point just feeling like Ubisoft games are now just all the same with a different skin on top. Locked regions you have to "liberate" in some way, and the sheer number of regions with repetitive game mechanics just got to me and I gave up on Valhalla. Way too big and too little variety.

I may try Shadows if it goes on sale at some point, because I heard it's going back to its roots as sealth / assassin focused, which would be great. That's what got me into the series in the first place.

Ooh nice. I have only briefly played a Warhammer 40K game before - Mechanicus, I think? Didn't really enjoy it and abandoned it after half a dozen hours.

But I do like Owlcat's Pathfinder games, and Rogue Trader is turn-based too so definitely excited to give this a try!
Rogue Trader is great. It does a very good job of going over lore, so it's very approachable even if you aren't super into 40k. Once you get a hang of the system you can really burn through encounters. I haven't finished my first play through, but it really seems like you can have a wildly different experience based on the choices you make.

What class is your Tav? Or did you go with an origin character?
Urdo is a Drow cleric.

My main squad is Shart, Minthara, and Laezel. I've been running Jeheira lately though instead of Minthara here and there. Halsin is in my camp but I don't usually use him. I know a lot of people use Kagha or whatever their name is but I didn't do that quest lol

Gotcha. I never played the early games. I’ve heard Valhalla in particular is way, way too big of a beast.

I did hear that Valhalla is just too big…

I didn’t play any of the earlier games so I don’t have a frame of reference for how they played. Being able to play (in Shadows) a stealth focused character or a Samurai is pretty cool. The former could be lots of fun.

I just saw it show up on Game Pass, but so did Avowed! Decisions, decisions :)

Are you running Shart as a cleric too? Curious how it is going with two clerics.

My main was a tiefling oathbreaker paladin. Mostly did the campaign with Shart, Astarion, and Gale. Used Laezel for all the Creche stuff, but generally stuck with the other 3.

I'd like to do another run through with 3 completely different ones. Maybe now is a good time with Patch 8 and the new subclasses.

I ran Laezel because she was strong melee early which I needed as a "I watch my fav content creator play a few campaigns but never played DnD myself" type of player. Honestly, as I figured out what was going on, she turned into a BEAST. I gave her great weapons master after I speedran 20 STR and she just clobbers people.

2 clerics is fine. I didn't subclass this run because like I said, I'm not very experienced. But even without subclassing it works. Having so much heal is nice first off, but I also have radiant maxxed her, which is now pretty f***ing hilarious after I strung her along her entire Dark Justiciar path until the very end where I passed a check and convinced her not to do the thing that could turn her into that lol

But she melts people with guiding bolt and I use spiritual guardians a lot too. And the weapon she has a radiant 1d8 bonus so if she hits with divine strike it just smokes.

I stay back as more true support with bless and bane and warding etc etc. So definitely plays different

Yeah, Fighters can be damage-dealing machines! If I didn't have my Paladin (which is also a ridiculously strong class) I would have stuck with Laezel as the front line tanker / damage dealer.

Spirit Guardians is so great! Radiant damage is one of the least resisted damages in BG3, from what I remember, so it's great to cast that and have a few of your companions stand inside the circle with her, especially when you're swarmed with lower-level melee type enemies. Really useful in the Shadow-cursed lands... and in that room with all the rats!

Just melted in the underdark and shadows. It totally chunks even without your enemy being weak to it too. Couple it with misty step and suddenly you have half your enemies hit without even using your action for the turn, let alone bonus action

Underdark and Shadow-cursed were my two favourite areas. They felt more fantastical. Underdark in particular - probably because I discovered it early by accident and was severely underleveled. The fights were more epic.

I saw a huge chasm with fog coming out, and had just gotten the boots of feather fall recently, and thought, hmm, what happens if I jump in? And of course BG3 was happy to oblige :)
