Its a take brought up to deflect from his putrid play this tourney. If your entire contribution so far is 1G of team Canadas 10Gs that have been scored with you getting demoted from L1 to L3 you have been very bad.

Especially when marner was the 3rd highest CAN producer coming into the tourney.

I'm just commenting on the game at hand. He could just not care, but he does. I think that says something for a game that doesn't matter.

For us yeah that is true.

Most teams see there rebuild work and the drafted and develop core players be likeable guys to build for 10-15 years with with high degree of sucess guaranteed (hawks, kings, bruins, bolts, pens, avs, stars, oilers, panthers, etc)

That never transpired here in toronto and the team doesnt look like a more serious contender in 2025 then they did in 2019.

They all became increasingly unlikable to me starting from nylander holdout fiasco in 2018 to now Marner and his fanbase having highjacked the team during his contract year.

Other fans may have more patience and tolerance along with belief in these players but I just can't bother to care or believe that they will do what it takes to win in Toronto

Hopefully we have new management top to bottom when we actually do start a new rebuild.

Probably not happening for 3 more years until Matthews contract ends

I think it’s to Canada’s advantage if he plays. Really need the heart and soul brothers to be less than 100% and it looks like that might be the case.

Truthfully, the end of this era will probably be a relief when time comes for some or all of them to leave.

Overhyped, under delivered and somewhere along the way it got stale. Real stale. Maybe the next era will be better, maybe it'll take a while to sort it out, maybe we'll look back on some of these years with fondness, but whatever comes eventually, the key thing is it will be something else.
