If McDonagh is hurt long term this team is cursed. Finally looking like a force to be reckoned with in the playoffs and our best skater gets cheapshotted late in a game that's already been won.

I hope that the coaches show McIlrath that highlight next season and he goes out and destroys Burrows if he's on the team. Absolute chicken**** move by Burrows.

Are you saying that just because you don't think you need to have a less talented team that can fight just for "toughness" they're effeminate and scared to death of confrontation? What ********.

Overreact much? What I'm saying is what I wrote you read to much into it. Everyone has their own preferences and I have no problem with the style of hockey you prefer. I thought you inferred that people identify with certain styles of play, no?

There's a difference. Not *****ing in every thread win or lose about a lack of toughness when the team is one of the healthiest teams in the league, isn't being effeminate, it's just not *****ing about a style that's been more or less successful, and especially true when it comes to health (this game notwithstanding), where this comes up the most. Saying how you want toughness over winning, means you like toughness more than the actual game.

Bottom line is action, reaction. And it goes way beyond one moment and one game. And that impact is on every player that wears the Ranger logo, by saying hey, take liberties on our mates and we will pound you before you can get off the ice.

I want to play on a team that will do that if I'm going into corners for pucks.

I agree 100% team toughness and battling for one another, is one thing. I think its different than having a goon.

Rangers spokesman says McDonagh's initial diagnosis is injury is "not serious." McDonagh has left arm in sling

Did they deliberately try to hurt McDonagh? First he was pulled backwards, and his head hit the ice. And then this dirty hit.

Watching Torts post-game he didn't want to comment on it, just said he didn't see it :shakehead

Say what you will about Torts, but I highly doubt he told Daniel Sedin and Alexandre Burrows to go after McDonagh. Just two individual players making questionable plays.

I HIGHLY doubt Torts told his team to go out there and target McDonagh. If anything at all, the players are making that call.

Right. I don't remember EVER being a dirty coach or at least the Rangers being a dirty team under Torts. He may be a ***** sometimes, I may hate his coaching, but I think he's an honorable man. Burrows has 5 goals this season, but this is the man that had Brian Boyle out there in these situations, it has nothing to do with him trying to goon it up.

AV also said he didn't see it. It was tough to see. It was along the boards and McD was sandwiched between two players.

Yeah, plus bad season or not, Burrows is one of their forwards that should be on the ice with the goalie pulled.

IF Burrows targeted McDonagh, that's his own doing, not Torts'.

Well I don't trust Torts, don't forget there is some bad blood here. And the fact that they tried to pull a stunt on McDonagh twice makes me suspicious.

But hopefully I'm wrong...

Torts has plenty of faults, but he isn't a dirty coach. He even has the utmost respect for McD, and said that he under utilized him here.

It wasn't a TOTALLY dirty hit, but if Burrows had the intent (which I wouldn't rule out knowing him), I'm heavily inclined to believe it was his own doing, and not Torts.

good news. Hope he can be back for the Playoffs at the latest. McTruck just trucking along.

Nice to see the draught end. Also hopefully McD is only out for a short time.
