Torts has plenty of faults, but he isn't a dirty coach. He even has the utmost respect for McD, and said that he under utilized him here.
It wasn't a TOTALLY dirty hit, but if Burrows had the intent (which I wouldn't rule out knowing him), I'm heavily inclined to believe it was his own doing, and not Torts.
Sit McDonaugh for the rest of the year if you have to. We're 5pts from a guranteed playoff spot and have OTT & CAR at home after the Avs. we should be able to lock downn at least 4 pts without an injured McD
Not fighting itself, no. All i want to see is a TEAM. Like the 11/12 season. You can say what you want about my post, but i just want some strong team spirit. It prevents hits like this one.
Haven't we gone from being like top 5 in man-games lost under Torts to being like top 5 at the other end this year?
The attitude of that team was awesome. But that team hit it's ceiling. It needed more talent. Under a cap especially, when you add that talent you are bound to loose some attitude. And then it just become a mess.
It's always a balance act under the cap. Nobody is arguing that this team isn't too soft, it is. But who do you rather have, Zucc and Brass or Clowe and Prust? We couldn't keep Clowe and Prust under the cap.
I'm definitely not a "TOFFNUSS" guy but Girardi's lack of response to players getting hurt is really starting to bug me. McDonagh got trucked right in front of him and he didn't do anything. Zucc rushed to McD's aid while Girardi watched. I'm not looking for him to pound Burrows in the back of the head, but I wish he did something.
Back to the game. GREAT GREAT game by Lundqvist. Anyone else worried about how we got outplayed by a bad team and one that can't score and needed Lundqvist to stand on his head to win? I know that they're not Edmonton, but I was proud of how pissed off the Rangers were that game and just completely shutdown the Oilers to what I thought was only 1 very good chance and that was Talbot's bad rebound. They looked not as bad as they did against the Flames but a lot closer to that than the Oilers game. This looked like a Torts game though. For the most part not much from the slot and we did a much better job in front of Lundqvist in the crease than against the Flames.

Vancouver might suck ****s this year, but they still play hard every game. They're fighting for their playoff lives right now. The fact that they came out all guns blazing doesn't surprise me at all.
I love Dan G., but I gotta say I'm a little frustrated by the lack of reaction there from him.
You see your partner down like that.....man set the world on fire...or something.
Hate Torts, but we've been healthy every year with Torts outside of 10-11. In 11-12, we had the Sauer injury and Staal injury, not much else.
“It’s not serious,” a Rangers spokesman said, referring to the initial diagnosis for McDonagh, who left the building with his left arm in a sling.
Nevertheless, the defenseman received treatment for an extended amount of the time following the match, and the Rangers already have lost Chris Kreider for an indefinite period to a left hand injury. After being remarkably healthy most of the year, the Rangers cannot afford to be without McDonagh for any significant stretch.

The Rangers cannot afford McDonagh to not be McDonagh. He could probably play banged up but he won't be as effective.
John Moore get ready. Is McDonagh playing tomorrow night?
