In my NHL 14 fantasy-drafted team, Jonathan Quick had 35 saves and 2 assists in a 2-0 Canes win.

It was the greatest game by a goalie ever. Think about that, Anton.

In an actual NHL game about a month ago Ryan Miller had 36 saves and 2 assists in a 3-2 Buffalo win...over Carolina. That was not a fun one.

Khudobin was probably referring to the KHL.

too bad for Dobby but it was just a matter of time and was going to happen. they haven't been able to clear the zone all year, especially with the same bs plan up the boards to the double/triple covered winger. it never worked and it never changed.

I'm sure everyone is disappointed with no shutout but pretty darn happy with Dobby nonetheless.

very surprising game in many ways, but a good one as well. wow. sure didn't expect that.

I feel we have sunk to a new low :(. The might Blue Jackets are saying we are an AHL team.

Well what does that say about them? They got outshot 47-20 and lost by 2, scoring their only goal late in the 3rd. I'm not saying they can't voice their opinion, but they really have no room to call us an AHL team.

We need moar #russians

Can we get #yakpov at all?

Vakupov was absolutely invisible the other night when we played the Oilers. I would never have guessed that he was a #1 overall pick based on his level of play.

In a world without media hype, he'd probably be a decent trade target. But there's no way the Oilers would give up one of their lottery players without overpayment, and he's not a guy worth overpaying for at this point.

^ sure but IMO the guy has been horribly mismanaged and his confidence shattered. I bet he would be quite a different player on a different team, with different guidance and development.

That's it in a nutshell. The oilers are stuck with him. No one will overpay for him, he hasn't shown enough to justify it. They won't give him away, they took him over a very good dman and need him to turn out anyway.

Even if he does need a change of scenery, the only way he's going to get it is by pulling a Radulov and heading back over to Russia until he's a free agent or his rights are traded. As Bleed said, the Oilers are basically stuck with him because they were foolish enough to take Yakupov over Murray. ALWAYS go with the sure thing, we made that mistake ourselves in 05 when we passed over Marc for Johnson.

I finally figured out why Vagrant keeps hating on Jack Johnson every time he's mentioned. He was went from excitement to heartbreak in the span of a year:

Carolina takes Jack Johnson

This is my favorite post in that thread, though. Dated 7/31/2005:

I'd lke to see the Canes pick up John LeClair, if he would agree to a reasonable contract. He's still good for 20 goals and could reach 30, plus bring some veteran leadership.

I still fear the Canes will be lucky to score 3 goals in a game and won't be too exciting to watch, except for their youngsters. At least we should stand a chance at getting a good pick next year.

Leclair did score 22 that year, then retired the following season. And we all know how the Canes fared.

Columbus can shove their cannon where the sun don't shine.

As upset as I was to see Anton lose the shutout, in another way, I was happy that Columbus scored.

After all the *****ing that Tripp did about the cannon during the broadcast, it was nice to see it fire at least once...just to get the last laugh.
