Because only Torts would recognize at this point how Torts was never a part of the problem? You're going to have to recognize at some point this year, hard as that may be for the crowd so convinced he was holding us back, that Torts was always one of the bright spots for this team.

Okay man, we got it, Torts was in no way, shape, or form, responsible for this team being terrible offensively, transition game wise, and on the PP last year in the system he implemented. You are God. Tortorella is the best coach in the NHL.

We should just stop watching this team. Forget the other 79 games they have left to give this new coach a shot here. Just stop watching hockey all together. Because...you know...3 games says it all.

It's sad when as a fan of a team, you really root for the team even harder just to shove it down the throats of the people that claim they are fans of the same team as you because of their pessimistic attitude on everything about the team, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

 yeah that McD goal was real legitimate. I bet we score half our goals that way this year.

I didn't say it was. Who cares? The Sharks are outplaying us more than we outplayed the Kings but we still outplayed them badly. They turned the puck over every chance they got and couldn't do **** offensively. If Lundqvist/Biron were in net last night, it would have been a blowout. Seems like all you do is **** on the Rangers.

Oh you mean PIM and Kel Varnesen? They only post here when they can ***** and moan and tell everyone how they know everything because they are always right about their negative outlook on this team. It's okay to create discussion but they are flat out ridiculous. Why even bother being a fan of a team? Just watch other teams or don't watch hockey at all..

It's actually really funny that I could have that rep now because I was the most positive guy the past few years about the team. Doesn't anyone remember that? I judge my feelings about the team based on my analysis of the team, with my default setting as optimistic.

I actually think we are a playoff team this year. But in the similar vein of last year. The difference being that this year we get ROCKED in the playoffs.

Links on Hank playing deeper, now, due to Allaire's system:

These are in no order and there are a million more out there. Allaire specifically changed Hank's game. Hank played much more aggressive in Sweden and is really night-and-day now compared to what he was.
That's true.

I don't think you're a Rangers fan.

I am, I promise. I'm just done with this ****. I started hating the direction as soon as we traded for Nash. The 11-12 team was the best thing I'd seen from the organization in years, and Sather decided to gut our entire NHL ready center depth to add a soft, overpaid 30 goal scorer with no playoff experience, let alone success. Torts got rid of Avery because he didn't like him which was Pejorative Slured, and claimed "other guys were better" when Mitchell was on the team. Prust was allowed to walk to cover Nash's Pejorative Slured and unnecessary cap hit. Rupp was traded for Powe, a piece of **** player who serves no purpose.

The Rangers excelled in 11-12 because we lead the league in fighting majors and blocked shots, and we had work ethic. That team couldn't win with talent either, but it just about worked, bled, bruised and punched its way to a cup. THAT was a freaking hockey team, not this band of ******* currently running around in Rangers jerseys.

All Hank wants is trophies and paychecks, he doesn't give a **** about the city or the team anymore. 11-12 was clearly his last straw. He's gonna go get paid. Since he's walking anyways, and since all the things that made this team something close to a contender are gone, we might as well ****ing start over. We're done anyways.

I'm the worst masochist when it comes to this damn team, but I'm glad I can share my misery with you guys :)

That's true.

Yeah, I have no idea where this myth that he played just as deep back then started, but it needs to end. Everyone who saw him play then agrees that he was much more aggressive and Benoit Allaire is even quoted saying that he changed Hank's game to have him play deeper in the net.

I've seen it bandied about quite a bit recently that Hank always played deep. That's simply untrue.

I actually just looked at his post history. Lot's of posts from the Phoenix game. Nothing yesterday.

Richie looked awesome yesterday. I only post when I think something is being left out. If people are doing a good job, I let you guys have at it and step back.

Hank doesn't look like himself, however, those goals were not his fault. The 3rd goal Asham was standing there instead of picking up the man and that man scored. On the 4th goal, Girardi went to block the pass and McD and Boyle were both standing there watching leaving the Sharks guy wide open on the back door. Wtf, Boyle even turned and looked at him and just stood in the middle.

My biggest concern is Nash's health because he looked dazed as hell after that hit. After Nash it seems Richards is our next best scoring option at the moment.

Oh, and Pouliot sucks. He turns the puck over waaaaay too much. He is a player with all physical attributes to be a good players (which is why he was a 4th overall pick) but he seems lazy and has no hockey sense. Hopefully I'm wrong, but that's what I'm getting from him so far. Hopefully when Hagelin comes back he will take Pouliot's place in the top 6 and Pouliot can grind it out on the 3rd line, play a similar role to Paille in Boston.

Games like this just show how much this team needs Sean Avery. He would have done something to turn the momentum back in our favor and fire the team up so this didn't get out of hand.
He would have knitted some lovely outfits for the boys. He really is tearing it up for........?
