That 4th goal by the Devils is on Howden and rally encapsulates his issues. He chases the puck high to his off side where Strome already is and has to try and scramble back to his side which he can’t and his not being there leaves Hughes open to receive the pass and make the play for the goal bc Howden isn’t there. If one guy on the PK chases and puts themselves out of position then it makes the whole thing fall apart.

But he looks like he’s trying really hard as he’s scrambling around out of position so I’m sure it’s all good as far as Quinn is concerned.

Look, this is a team that does lazy shit and very careless shit. It's no wonder other teams look like world-beaters. You can't keep shooting yourself in the foot with unforced errors all over the ice and expect to win. Strome looking like he's still vacationing. Everyone trying lateral shit instead of going north. Failing to get the puck deep.

This team needs to be more north-south.

This Devils team is REALLY REALLY easily bodied and in spite a few decent open ice hits they refuse to grind them down.

There's also basically no dump and chase game plan which if you're not gonna diagonal pass to break down apart a turtle or blast point shots at peoples necks, is necessary to make holes in the 6 goalie setup.

In 3 games, he has 6 points. That's not just one good game.
Hughes is good, and he certainly is starting to live up to his potential. That said, It's extremely unfair to expect Kakko scoring at the same rate if he is literally playing 4th line minutes while Hughes is getting most of their forwards. Yes, some of this is due to the fact they don't have guys like Panarin, Zibanejad, Kreider etc, but still.

Also, Zibanejad is dead last in ES ice time. That's not ok.

He's played a ton of PP but that could be mitigated by Quinn actually using his second unit.

You believe Kakko is playing great and not seeing more ice time?

I like Kakko and hope he becomes great. I am concerned that last season he had the worst metrics since metrics have been calculated.

But, for the fourth time, Hughes looks awesome. That's indisputable.

yea let’s be honest we rather have The C Hughes over the winger Kakko . It’s just a more important position

If Rantanen, a clear cut first line forward, were having a rough start to the year, would you take him off the PP after a solid season the year before? Probably not.
The same Rantanen who was given everything from game #1 in the NHL, when they actually decided to keep him up? The Rantanen who was allowed to f*** up as many times as he wanted without getting thrown out of PP and on the bottom lines?'

Get the f*** out of here. These players aren't getting the equal opportinity.

Who is your dealer? Because your on some wild shit....go constantly bash kakko somewhere else

to say dach has been better is ridiculous, he’s had a whopping 23 points last year compared to 24 from kakko
I hope he proves me wrong. This is what I see.
