I had to join that Gretzky thread. But christ, that guy is just a completely moron. He actually believes Mcdavid is more or less on par with Gretzky.

And Crosby ahhahahahahahha

Hopefully not another snoozefest. You would think that with guys competing for roster spots you'd see more emotion, instead of apathy all over the lineup. Maybe Beleskey can bring that, Namestnikov, McLeod, and DeAngelo were all greatly missed last night. I think a lot of players are just expecting/wanting trades at this point. Gotta think Hayes, with his play the past few games and the attention he's gotten in the press, is one of them.

DQ spends a lot of time policing his players. I wonder if he's planning on doing that long-term. Players respond differently to it over time and almost all good teams police themselves.

Here's what's funny to me: players from the 80's are beer-leaguers on this site and none of them compare to players today, but players from the 90's? My god, third liners from the 90's would win the Hart now. Forsberg and Lindros would have 400 points.

Beleskey called up. I think it was expected but here’s the notice. There doesn’t seem to be a Beleskey thread, so sticking this here.

You're just now realizing that the main boards on HF are full of cancer and AIDS?

I hope our original No. 11 has a great night. He may not be the player Messier was, but he's a big part of Ranger history I wish I could have seen more of. I think number retirals are thrown around way too much these days, but the GAG line should be complete in the rafters.

No question.

Unfortunately they were playing in the tail end of the fat of the land Montreal had acquired in the pre-expansion draft pillaging in the

era of the NHL.

I mean, I don't want to completely derail this thread (although maybe we should with the way we've been playing) but I never understood the infatuation with guys like Forsberg and Lindros.

Lindros had his best season when he was 22 in 95-96 when he scored 115 points. Gretzky was 34 that year, on the downturn of his career and he scored 102 points. Basically Gretzky at the end of his career was just as good as Lindros in his prime.

Speaking of banners, the way the Rangers hand them out like candy, it never made sense as to why they don't give Gretzky one. I know he didn't do much here, but still. The best player in history played for only 4 teams and I'm being pretty generous in counting the Blues.

Indeed...Gresh is the only deserving player left who should be up there.

If Gretzky once spit on my team's logo I would raise a banner.

I'm immensely proud that he played here.
