Kakko and Laf's biggest issue in my mind right now is that they are too slow for today's NHL. They need to get a helluva lot faster. They have the skills, but if every time they have the puck, they get rubbed off immediately because they aren't fast skaters, there's nothing they can do with it.
The good thing is, skating and speed can be improved.

This was a game where Lafereniere had a legitimate claim to setting up a couple of chances that OF COURSE didn't go in.

Kakko doesn't really do that.

He's good, but unless we see leaps and bounds improvement in his offense, he looks like he's going to be an "elite" complimentary player in the Dubinsky/Callahan/Hagelin/Fast ilk.
I'm a big Laf fan and am not down on him. But don't make shit up. He had a rough game and didn't set up anything. KK was a much bigger factor in this one in not much ice time.

Kinkaid literally didn't want to win that game. passed it to the flyers 3 times in OT.

We actually really f***ing miss Tony's exact game in the OT too. OT plus PP. With Tony being used the same was he was last year? We are fighting for a playoff spot. Not trying to bring Tony back into the picture or convo but we really need Lundkvist in the big picture. We have Schneider and Robertson that can replace Miller as an eventual hope on the top 4. Who is bringing what Nils brings?

I'm so pissed that the Rangers are ingrained to giving Mika his low percentage, crazy angle one-timer that Miller passed up a prime shot in OT to try and get a pass to him for it.

Laf's overtime...man, what was that.

They can cash out on Strome, or Buch, or even Mika - I definitely get that they're not resigning all three - but then you're just taking away good NHL players that Laf/Kakko can work with and bringing in people we probably won't see for three years.

Why doesnt Kakko get a shift in OT?? Why arent we rolling with our talent?

Why was Miller out there? He had no business even playing in this game.

Why no Tarmo in OT?

Chytil?

This coaching staff is straight up pain.
Miller was abused all night. They kept drawing him up and getting behind him. Also, what's with all the long diagonal passes in the O Zone? They were picked off all night.

The whining is unbearable sometimes. No Fox, no Buch, no Igor yet some of want to jump off a ledge because they get 1 point. Why?

Because 1 point is a meaningless consolation prize in a season where we aren’t going to be in the race, and watching the game we’re disgusted with what we see from our team and coaches. Panarin had a 3 point explosion in a 5 minute window in the second. Otherwise we bled breakaways and odd man rushes, Kreider was invisible, Mika is cursed, the kids are invisible, Miller was running around like a headless chicken with no accountability (because NCAA?) and we’re paying Trouba Pietrangelo money for Dumolin performance.

Kinkaid made two huge breakaway saves late in the third to bring us to OT. I can't beat up on him too much. That goal was truly a disaster by him, but he made some really big saves for us too.

Like Tarmo's three shifts tn.

Also, not to be that guy, but wtf was that double minor called after played stopped for no reason? Meanwhile wasn't there a clear delay of game penalty that didn't get thrown to the replay refs?
Fair although that first breakaway save he had no idea where that puck was, just got lucky.

Still I think 3 of the goals he gave up were very stoppable, 5 if you add in the Hayes goal that got called back. Only ones that you can’t really blame him on were the first and last. Pretty putrid performance. But then again, what should we expect? He should be in Hartford or in this case of an injury to Igor, Georgiev should be stepping up as the interim starter. Isn’t that why we signed him to a 2.45m cap hit? Because he’s supposed to be a great backup, borderline starter? Him being as bad as he’s been is ridiculous and that’s the only reason we even have to watch Kinkaid in net anyway. So I guess to sum it up, this loss is Georgiev’s fault (joking lol).

Either the Rangers have the worst luck with top picks in history or a garbage coach is garbage. I'm sorry but even that completely shit show of a franchise in Edmonton only had one #1 pick bust on them. And that was in a weak draft. Quinn is an abomination of a coach.

Right now, we are looking at a #1, #2, #7, and a #9 go down the shitter. That simply cannot happen. If it does, this rebuild is over.

are we gonna keep marching out Trouba on the pp until fox is back? Guy is terrible in the o zone. Can't shoot. Slow with decision making. Right Tarmo hasn't earned it so he can't find his way onto that unit.

Drafting a 2nd overall and a 1st overall back-to-back only to have them combine for like 10 points a season is literally my nightmare.
Considering they were drafted by the Rangers they will have a shitty career until they get traded. Sad but this is what I expect to happen within the next 2 or 3 years :sarcasm:

Who among us would have guessed before the season started that this team's biggest issue would be it's lending of goats?
