whats the common denominator?
I'm on the DQ hate train like everyone. But I'm at the point of thinking it's beyond Quinn. The kids look like ass even when they are getting top 6 minutes. And guys like Rooney f***ing do it all and earn their TOI. It's like a supernatural thing with this organization. Inability to develop elite forwards. It's like there is an automatic skill and passing debuff that is applied the moment you put on a NYR sweater. That's why it's truly special what Panarin does.

Imagine if both Lafy and Kakko bust here and get traded and then breakout in their mid 20s. It would not shock me for them to do that.
If that happens, it would still be a wash for NYR. If they don't break out between now and before they get traded, they wouldn't break out with us.

I don't believe in ghosts, curses, new agey bullshit. I believe in organizational issues. Rangers may not be able to properly develop talent LIKE them.

Lafreniere is way too careless in the game, watch the puck too much, don't skate. It's frustating.
Kakko has a muffin for a shot and is like Nash, just slow as f***. Not a good combination.
Hopefully they will get their shit together and start to produce like we, and everybody who watch hockey, expected from a #1 and #2 picks.

Look, without mistakes from Gauthier, Miller and Kincaid, this game is a win. Gauthier and Miller are young - shit happens. It's part of the process.

I think people are just a bit too impatient with Kakko. It will all come together in another year. You can literally see him developing.

We know Quinn is the problem. That's 90% of our complaints. We're not throwing these kids under the bus to call them busts. We're doing it to throw Quinn under the bus.

Yeah like what anybody on here says is going to affect what Rangers management does. Most people just whine for the sake of whining.

Panarin should be inducted into the HoF this very instant for what he's been able to do lol

I didn't say it was a good game but the overreactions are absurd. They still did get 1 point without 3 of their top players and crappy goaltending. Reading this board you would think they lost 10-0. If they won in OT would everything be ok?

See, I think it’s the opposite. I think people would still be complaining if they’d scratched out an OT win and saying that Panarin is the entire team, because no one is happy with the way they played, regardless of the scoreboard. And it’s obviously not a reaction to a single game in a vacuum, but people’s frustrations over the course of 27 games so far. Far more of them have been truly bad performances than moderately good ones.

Did you consider that the reason the 2nd unit isn’t good is because they’re on it?

Lol...and the 1st unit is good?

They don't score either and eat up all the ice time then change for the 2nd unit with 30 seconds left after the team has cleared the zone. That 2nd unit ain't doin shit regardless who's on it.

Everyone is knocking Kakko's shot. How many legit set ups has he blown where it was him v. the goalie? Very few. His wrist shot is fine.

I think the best thing to do is for the three kids to play as a line. Maybe the pressure will come off a little when they play with their "peers" as opposed to being hesitant when playing with the Panarins and the Kreiders of the world. They need some marinate time together. I think Quinn actually would want that, but not being able to ice a full healthy team has been a huge detriment causing all the line juggling from the start.

I actually expect that. But if they are gonna suck here then you have to at least consider moving one for a center like Eichel.

Both for him? No fn way.

At this point would anybody be shocked if Kravtsov becomes the best player of the 3?

Otherwise keep em for the duration and hope for the best.

I think K-Roons and All-in Colin are the types of journeyman that have placed their bets on being a 4th line chip and chasers whereas Lafreniere, Chytil, and Kakko are trying to explore their skill sets and just like Kaapo said in the Finnish interview, Quinn tells him to not do a lot of things that are not defensively sound. In my mind that means Quinn is pushing chip and chase board work safe is safe hockey. Hard to thrive when you're in an Amish village trying to learn how to make mushu pork with an electric wok.

We want Laf and Kakko to get points? Then roll out Kakko, Laf, Chytil, Panarin, and Fox on PP1. Every game.
Roll them out on offensive o-zone draws against the other teams 2nd and 4th lines.
Stick with it, then the points will come. This will NOT happen with Quinn. This team is weird, they aren't going to get 5v5 points playing with a yipped Zib.

I wish we’d picked up Quenneville. He inherited rookie/young Toews and Kane and they flourished under him. His team’s have a brand of hockey and he knows how to handle young players.

The second unit gets about 10-15 seconds lol put mcdavid and whoever else you want on it ain't crap gonna happen.
But nothing is gonna change. Nothing

Watch the game again. He was awful.
Miller was bad but you don't scratch him. He likely knows what he did wrong. He needs to work on it and get better so when we have a roster that can compete for a cup he has worked these mistakes out. Brendan Smith does need to be scratched.

Kakko does not have a bad shot at all. He never gets chances to use it. That’s what’s worse

I’ll tell you the happiest guy should be Buchnevich since none of these kids are going to get paid anytime soon since none of them have produced a thing no bonus money and kakkos second contract right now would be peanuts.they may very well be able to squeeze him in for another 2 years.

We literally have no offensive gameplan on top of being shy to pull the trigger. They have had so many chances to put it in the net but just try to be too fancy and pass.

Were a pass first team and that needs to change.

Yeah and he was dominant on Saturday, against a better team. Miller is a rookie, no one expected him to make this team, in this way, so fast. Martin is the best thing, right now, for him. Roll him out, teach.
