question 1, what are your thoughts on this?
question 2, what do you realistically expect from fans right now?

Question 2: I can both expect people to meltdown because that's what they do and also point out that yesterday we were BUY BUY BUY and now we suck, sell the team, Yzerman sucks. I said this forum was getting in their feels yesterday and we're certainly teetering today.

Personally the Mazur injury with 300 of his friends and family in the crowd, paired with the L stings more for me. Particularly with the upcoming schedule. Meanwhile, Walman is in the past and doesn't affect the wings.

Still you have to admit that the 1-day contrast in this thread is stark.

Even so, having a guy stapled to the first line and potting 80-90 points is a pretty good problem to have.

The overreaction to the Walman trade is absurd. He was ASS after the new year for this team and was a reported locker room issue. Let’s not pretend like he was going to get a 1st round pick coming back when Yzerman traded him. He’s having an outlier season and good for SJ being able to trade him when his value is the highest it’ll ever be. But this situation right now compared to when Yzerman traded him is apples and oranges.

I agree. Way overreaction! He wasn't playing like he did this season, last season and especially not his last 20 games or so where he wasn't good at all. I still think Yzerman should have at least gotten a 3rd for him rather than giving a 2nd to go with him, but nobody was giving a 1st or 2nd for Walman in the offseason. People are also looking at his hot start where he had 19 pts in his first 22 games and was +11. His play has likely fallen off a lot since, as he is only now at 32 pts and is -1. That is 13 pts in his last 28 games and -12.

They are rebuilding and he is 29 years old, and getting assets is more important to them.

Well considering I quit my job two weeks ago and may have to evacuate my apartment at the end of April it might have to be the gas station 6 pack
