I don't think Copp, Kane, Chiarot ,Petry or Holl will get traded
Maybe Tarasenko and Lyon before trade deadline. We could get for them two extra second round picks. Tarasenko could get replaced with Danielson or Lombardi.
Have Berggren in the package for #3 defansman?

Anyone would be on the table for me, that being said berggren is finally starting to produce and I'd hang on to him for now and let his value build especially since we dont know anything yet about other prospects

Like Soderblom but it's not looking good and Lombardi is way too soon.

I'd trade copp compher holl chiarot talbot and include salary for a few seasons if need be. We can afford to do so for a few seasons with the cheap rookie contracts

I'd be collecting assets to make big moves in the off season while trying to get a lottery pick this season. Looked in the standings and outside chicago I can realistically see us fall in the top 3

Even sharks are starting to win games with just winning celebrini . Can see ducks starting to win games, too much talent

Kane - cant see him sticking around for this and dont blame him. Id expect a 2nd rounder off contender

Lyon- hes got a cheap contract which would be valuable and I'd be asking for a 2nd off a contender since itll be late 50s

Talbot- on the flipside of lyon I'd move talbot instead with that extra year if we eat his salary at 50% to a cash strapped cup contender like Colorado I believe we can get a late 1st . That 1st could be valuable and used in a trade for a big piece. Id then Resign lyon

Debrincat - fans wont be happy but I see a 0% chance yzerman resigns him to a longterm deal when his contract ends. It wont happen but I'd do it now if we can get a bigger return for him. We'd fall in the standings and we can use his return for a zegras/cozens/byfield? Basically big piece like someone young with huge upside that can be here longterm

Tarasenko- at 50% I'm sure we can get decent return from a contender. Sure hes produce better elsewhere and he has cup experience ,hed be a valued piece

3rd retention I'd use would be on chiarot. Think at 50% I think he could have some value, again on a contending team trying to save cap space.

If not I'd use it on compher before he becomes untradeable like copp. I think if hes available at 4 million we can get a 1st. Nashville is struggling and hey have 3 1sts and we can target Tampa's pick

We'd have Larkin kasper danielson copp next season able to play center

1st from Talbot, 1st from compher ,1st debribcant, 2nds from kane,tarasenko

Probably guarantee we get a hagens, misa,Schaeffer, martone ... we have 3 1sts and multiple 2nds we can use to make big deals in the off season

If we had all these assets last summer maybe we could of had like a necas

All this wont happen lol but that's the move I'd be making.

I can see where Talbot could fetch a solid return with his play this season, but I would much prefer to hold onto him. Per his play so far as a Wing, and his ability to mentor Cossa if he indeed makes the roster. We finally have solid goaltending for the first time since Bernier, not sure I want to torch that 26 games later.

IF they want to move Dcat, that sure feels like more of an off season move than anything else. You have mentioned before, you would like to tank for Mckenna, so I get why your purposing to blow the roster up.

NO ONE is going to give us a first for Compher. Not unless one of us can hack a GMs cellphone and do it ourselves.

Teams are limited in the amount of contracts that can use retention on right? Feels like this post is pushing that limit as is.

Red Wings trade F Vladimir Tarasenko

Jets trade F Alex Iafallo and their 2025 4th round pick.

Red Wings trade RHD Jeff Petry(50%)

Panthers trade F Wilmer Skoog and their 2025 7th round pick.

Red Wings trade F Patrick Kane(50%) and G Alex Lyon.

Devils trade G Jake Allen and their 2026 1st round pick.

Bring up Lombardi. Roll with three goalies, compound some gains by trading Jake Allen or look to move a goalie in the summer/next season. Look for a high lottery slot. While playing/easing in some youth in the line-up. RHD Antti Tuomisto deserves a shot on the roster, idk if he'll get it.

Compher has played like shit all season, so you want to reward him by putting him on the top line?

Idk if that's it. Who else is he supposed to be productive with if not that two best forwards on our team? Got to jump start his game somehow. I'm not sure playing him with rookies is the way to roll in that particular situation.

Red Wings can't play Compher,Copp,Motte,Veleno,Rasmussen,Fischer,Berggren all on the same fourth line. You know, about 17 million in trash, literally about 10-12 million too much for bottom line talent.

Compher has looked his best with Copp, though. I'd stick Kane with them, but maybe i just want to punish Kane.

He's referring to the mock trades I posted and roster I threw out; I traded Kane in that "scenario".

Compher got like his first 50 pt season at like 28 yrs old on one of the top end teams in the nhl is anyone actually surprised hes not producing??? Lmao

Hes a 3c ... were better off selling him off at 4 million and moving on with kasper 2c the rest of the season. I'm sure the avs would take him back at 4 mill or nashville , someone will

We better do it soon cause if hes producing the same a year from now he'll be another copp

What are possible destinations we can send kane to???

Was thinking dallas with Seguin down kane could go next to duchene on the 2nd line , a younger stankoven could then be next to benn on the 3rd

Vegas is vegas and always in on everyone. I'd love to somehow make a deal that involved us getting nic hague I think he'd be on the 2nd pair here and can be here longterm

We can maybe also include a goalie in the trade and take back samsonov if need be. I don't know if they want to go in the playoffs with samsonov with his stats

Colorado - gotta assume they'll add some players cause looking at they're roster I cant see them making noise in the playoffs the way they currently look

I would say carolina but I dont know if kane would want to live there

Oilers - dont think hed want to live there again but shorterm playing next to draisaitl and a McDavid on a ppl maybe on a ppl might be too enticing

I'd say florida and tampa as well but they have no $$$ ... cant see him going anywhere else

Again vegas would be my pick

Samsonov + hague + 4th

Kane 50% + lyon + gustafsson

Hague will get more money ,Gustafson can be his replacement on the 3rd pair. We get a d piece we need.

Given Kane and his family, I imagine you would need to sell him on two things - less time away from his family (i.e. closer to the deadline), and give him an opportunity to basically make a run at a Cup, but in sheltered, offensive minutes and no one asking him to do any real heavy lifting.

So the criteria would be: Likely Cup Contender, secondary scoring/PP2 is their biggest need, has 1.8M or so in cap space.

The list comes down to me:

Florida Panthers
Toronto Maple Leafs
Washington Capitals
Minnesota Wild

His kids in school? He moved a few times in a few years ...

Cant see him going to canada. Florida or Tampa I can see but they have no cap space. As you saw I was hoping for Vegas, somehow always a chance for the cup

I'm down with selling high on Kat this season, even if retaining. Make way for the kids even if it means tank. What they're doing isn't working. Sell, sell, sell, unless they can somehow fleece someone for a top young talent like Byfield.
