Minnesota seems to have the best prospect pools to suit the Bruins needs ,

Looking at centers 22 and under

Charlie Stramel, C, 20
Marat Khusnutdinov, C, 22
Riley Heidt, C, 19
Danila Yurov, C/LW/RW, 21

Currently on the varsity squad at Center

Marat Khusnutdinov, C, 22
Joel Errikson Ek C, 28
Marco Rossi C, 23
Frederick Gaudreau C, 31
Jacob Lauko C, 24

Might be able to find a Center in Minnesota , Minnesota Wild Ranked Second in 2025 NHL Prospect Pool Rankings | Minnesota Wild

How do we get another Riley ?

Dom can u please give me info on Othmann ty.
Can skate, physical, one of the better forecheckers in his draft class and one of the best shots in his draft class. Shoot first mentality but very good playmaker. In fact, he was selected by OHL coaches having one of the best shots in consecutive years (1st and 3rd best shot).

I find it hard to believe the Rangers would give him up for Trent Frederic, let alone add Kreider. But I suppose if you want someone to take Kreider's contract, you have to pay.

However, if I'm the Rangers, I'm not giving Othmann straight up for Frederic.

I don't really know anything about him but his stats look promising. He was a 20 goal rookie in the AHL, which says something. He's playing well again this year.

Othmann loves nothing more than to collect the puck on the breakout, lead the charge into the offensive zone, and turn the corner on opposing defenders. He always attacks at full speed, playing a high-pace style, and pressuring with that same level of intensity. He pressures on the forecheck, plays the body, and takes good routes to cut off the opposition’s attempts at a breakout.

They're basically paying us to take Kreider by offering a former 1st, who's NHL ready, for Frederic who's value is closer to a 2nd.

Yeah seems like it if this rumor is in any way true. I'd be interested to hear Dom on his skating (I see Dom commented as I was posting). I saw a quote from him in the OHL pre draft that seemed to praise his skating. I was reading a Rangers report on him not making the team out of camp, and they were very harsh on his skating saying it is not NHL level. Describes him as

He “train tracks,” which requires quick feet that Othmann simply doesn’t have. Also, his stride is too wide for his edge work. To fix it and make him more viable at the NHL level, he needs a lot of work.

Not sure on other guys one thing we all know is Jacob Lauko is not a center at the NHL level. He has taken 27 FO's in 3 seasons

This we know , maybe adding a Coyle or Geekie ,to current depth could help a playoff run , Boston would need to add of course .Carlo could be of interest to Minny .

I'm terrible at trade proposals but Minnesota is stacked with center prospects .

Thankyou...Sounds like a kid with big potential .

I don't really want Kreider here, but if the Bruins can get a couple of useful seasons out of him, with the real prize being Othmann, Kreider and TF salaries (on Trents next deal) probably cancel out. I hate the idea of an overpaid, declining big forward. We've seen enough of that, but the sweetener may make it worthwhile. Someone else will need to go out to somewhere to make it happen, though, because the salary doesn't work.

Atta boy Marchy. Handles it well, isn’t arrogant or defiant. But he does give Sweeney a clear warning that if it ever did come to pass he’d fully expect that he’d be consulted first.

Probably not necessary as I don’t think Neely, in particular, would allow that to happen (just my opinion).

Still, smart move by Marchy. Better safe than sorry.

Proposed by someone from a Rangers perspective… I don’t think it’s realistic but I also see it from their POV

If Kreider is considered a negative asset that they want to clear off the books and they don’t have a first round pick this season (or any second round picks for the next three years) this would be a creative way to manage things.

Of course we would take Othmann straight up for Frederic. The addition of Kreider may be looked as the balancing of the scales.

It’s an idea that surprises me as I still thought of Kreider as having value, even his current performance and cap hit. But perhaps that’s just where the market is at and they feel they can ice a better team without him. :dunno:

He looked pretty good on the short handed winner against the Bruins. I think he’s been banged up ( back )most of the year as well.

Not gonna swallow this one, but I can see the Rangers getting a good forward and clearing money for a big add by giving us Othmann and Kreider.

Its not crazy. I'd like it.

Still not buying it though.

That said, who had Rantanen to Canes?

I thought he did too. Although I have to admit, he’s been pretty awful in most games I’ve seen him in this season. But is that him now, or has being told “we’re shopping your ass” by a dysfunctional team affected his play?

Personally, I’d roll those dice in any deal resembling the proposed.

In a season where we are missing some of what Foligno and Maroon were brought in to do, I see some value in Krueger from a presence perspective. Add in the hypothetical concept of Coyle being moved, and Marchand for that matter, it makes even more sense.

He’s having a down year due to injuries and team woes, but could be a good body for the 3rd line future considering some of the names that might not be here next year. The past few years his scoring touch would have been welcome with arms wide open. I feel like he has more to give than Coyle does at this stage too.

If Othman is attached I’m in, but maybe they can retain 500k?

He sounds a little like DeBrusk. Young, promising LW'er with a scoring touch is an organizational need too.
