Has not for a second been what I want, or anyone would want I’d think. But I hate more the idea of (potentially, depending on what he actually wants for himself of course) wasting his prime years and, selfishly, some re-tool velocity in the form of not picks, but say a young stud centreman or some other vehicle that speeds us along through what looks to be some possible lean years

The approach should be a very surgical retool that focuses on Mac, Sway and possibly even Lohrei depending on how he develops

I see pasta as the viable route for this

I really want to know what happened to the leadership on this team. Seems like it started right from camp, which i think Neely/Sweeney alluded to at one point.
They came in out of shape that’s for sure. Could see it from day 1. And then the room being unable to course correct basics like showing up on time ready to play too often was very un-Bruin like.

I think the return is obviously focused on, and the future lineup and all that. But it’s very apparent the biggest move they’ve made was to rip the leadership team right out of the room . They didn’t like it at all.

I can’t claim this as mine, but too many golden retrievers and instagram accounts. Needed a shake up. Just surprised they did it with a flamethrower.

Lauko -- Zacha -- Pasta

Mittlestadt -- Lindholm -- Geekie

Khusnutdinov -- Poitras -- Lysell

Kopeke -- Minten -- Kastelic

Lohrei -- Peeke

Zadorov -- Joker

Wotherspoon -- Mitchell

Get the draft boards ready!

Ohhh the irony if this is the lineup, because before moving Marchand, Coyle and Frederic, Beecher played over 95% of their games.

Now, with that depleted lineup, imagine if they finally scratch him.

Lol

Geekie - Mittelstadt - Pasta

Zacha - Lindholm - Poitras

Koepke - Khusnutdinov - Lettieri

Lauko - Beecher - Kastelic

I doubt it’ll look exactly like this but some will like the fourth line. I put the 2nd line together in hopes someone starts shooting more cause I’m tired of those 3 forcing an extra pass could obviously backfire on me.

Zadorov - Jokiharju

Lohrei - Peeke

Callahan - Wotherspoon

Mitchell

Probably rotate a lot but wonder if this is the D pairings to start with. Wotherspoon playing RD at times so we don’t get full time Mitchell unless I’m missing something like if CM is closer to returning then I know..

I’ve shit on Sweeney lots. Not happy about Mittelstadt but dumping Coyle for a younger player with a bit more offensive upside and a 2nd is ok. And dumping Carlo for what he got was brilliant. Marchand if he only wanted 4 per year I would have kept over a conditional 2nd but I also wasn’t keen on re-signing him due to our window being closed for several years minimum. I’m not ready to hug Sweeney as he also landed us Korpisalo who stinks and is overpaid by a couple million we could use to add to our top 6. If he adds 2 quality top 6 guys and a top 4 dman I’ll be happy but I don’t see the money for that happening. Prices are going to be insane in the summer.
Who are you? Definitely not a Bruins fan.

The Bruins would not offer 4 or 5 million for 2 years? Odd unless this injury truly is a concern or they do not want him to return. Or, they do know for certain he plans to return... Difficult to analyze.

He is a second line winger even now. That is a bargain.
Maybe all of it?

Nobody thinks about this: but what if he didn’t get traded, and didn’t get in another game for the Bruins this season? Maybe he never touches ice in Florida either? If he does, good for him, but It would be odd for any team to sign him over the summer, Bruins or otherwise, for the money or term he wanted had he not been able to play another game this year- be it playoffs for another team or the sunset games of a meaningless season for a draft-tanking hockey team.

Most players his age with that injury history aren’t afforded multi year contracts, never mind the money aspect, and Brad knows this. I think Marchand and Sweeney said all the right things- protecting both themselves and the franchise they represent, and ultimately, potentially, setting up a little tampering for the future if they want to work on another contract.

All of this said, it’s hard to swallow the return most especially because the pick isn’t for another 2-3 years, when Brad should be in Florida for the beaches and not the ice.

Huh? Why because I don’t forgive Sweeney for all his blunders? He made some good moves today but this team is still many years away from being a top contender.
No because 100% of the posts about the Bruins are ripping them since you joined and the ones before that are all about the Lightning. Looked back and couldn't find a single positive post about the Boston Bruins since you joined.

So, yeah, not a fan but rather a person who signed up to trash talk them.

If you don't post a single good thing since joining, that's not a fan, right?

Cheers

Wow you need to get yourself a life if you went back and read all my posts. I’ve soured on the Bruins for sure, this rebuild was due last year. They’re not fun to watch. I’m a fan but I’m also not blind to see they’re not exactly exciting so I’m sorry I don’t have glowing things to say about them right now. But yes I’m a fan ever since 82-83 with Pete Peeters. Stayed. With them through all these years and cheered for them loud and proud in 2011 in a city infested with Canucks fans. A fan can be negative. A fan can complain. A fan can even grow tired of their team and need a break. You’re no more a fan than I am trust me. You’re just a guy who likes to pretend he’s a better fan than others and puffs out his chest behind a keyboard. So relax and get out and do something besides reading everyone’s posts to try to judge how big of a fan they are. Life is great so get out there and enjoy it tough guy.

That will help the tank for sure. Put Mittelstadt on the top line too to help the tank.
I can't see them touching the 1st line. You don't need to piss off #88 anymore than he probably already is.

They aren't winning or getting more than 6 points the rest of the year. That should be good enough for the #5 or #6 pick.

It's definitely something they may consider depending upon what goes on in the summer.

Hypothetically the Kings come calling. Fiala, Byfield and Clarke. I mean with the current state of this group you would be silly to not entertain it.

That d will have us finish last in any league in the universe. Welcome to the supertank.

Doesn't he have a full NMC? So you have to think he will waive only for one of the top 4-5 teams in NHL. Granted the cap is rising but you are going to want serious talent and I can't see any legit contender sending back good enough value.
