Yeah that was a really good comp you made. I see it a lot. To me he's a keeper and could be a late blooming diamond in the rough. Sometimes 25-26 year old come into their own playing with higher skilled players and you can see that here.
He’s not just banging lose pucks around the net - he’s got hands, some wiggle, a great shot, finds open space, and has on ice awareness
Thursday I sat with my friend dead center ice row 2 balcony behind the benches and I saw Geekie in a completely different way. He was making plays and passes
Remember he lived way up in New Canada (I think he was Sheppy’s paper boy) and to ice teams it was boys and girls
His wife was his linemate and I believe she’s a nurse at one of the Boston hospitals. He said she was the feisty one and due to her extensive playing background is a good source of information now
I am very impressed- he and Zacha are evolving
The Bruins have rebuilt and retooled their first line and should be set for awhile
The bottom 6 are carpenter lines - thru can be built thru a number of ways and usually are a smorgasbord of vets from other teams (2011: Pevs, Ryder, Kelly, Paille, Thornton, Campbell)
The top 6 you need skills
If they can secure Necas (Avs are going to be going hard so could be trouble) the Bruins are in a great spot going forward
They need their D back and see what happens
Marchand after a great December in January has 1 goal in 12 games with a goalie in the net
Marchand is a line driver but he looks like he lost a gear
I don’t like Marchand, both Lindholms, Swayman, and McAvoy are in this
Happy Pastrnak & Zacha aren’t
Mcavoy and Lysell for Kreider and Schneider. Anyone?
Super hard pass
The emergence of Jones McMuffin Koepke make it much easier to trade Fred And Braz. And for good returns. I really do like Braz and fully aware trading him could come back to bite Boston. He is one player that really could help sweeten the pot for a top six scoring speedy winger.
Fred is a pretty obvious trade chip.
Whoa
This is a joke right
