There is a point where all of us are told they can't play the kids game anymore. Maybe he will hook on somewhere else, but I think it is time for him to make the decision on what the next stage of his career will be .

I thought it was a mistake at the time, and I am happy they are willing to move forward from it

Johnson waived.

The Bruins placed Johnson on unconditional waivers on Thursday. Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman adds that the move is “for purposes of contract termination,” meaning Johnson will be done with the Bruins whether he clears waivers or not.

It’s a tough ending for Johnson, who patiently remained with the Bruins without a contract until finally signing a one-year, $775,000 deal on Nov. 4. Unfortunately, he just wasn’t able to contribute the way anyone had hoped.

“Wahlstrom will make his Bruins debut Thursday night in Edmonton, skating on the third line with Charlie Coyle and Trent Frederic. Mark Kastelic will slide back down to the fourth line with McLaughlin and Johnny Beecher, while Cole Koepke draws out.”

Don't really get what Beecher has brought over Koepke this year besides faceoffs. Would have sat him instead.

I do like the sounds of that 3rd line though.

Man kakko went for peanuts. I guess rags dont wanna deal with rivals is my guess.
Yea really makes you wonder. I for one would of thought there would of been a better return and if he omitted eastern teams from acquiring him because he was afraid of what Kakko could do against the Rags down the road, that’s just terrible GMing and not having confidence in your ability. Or maybe there just wasn’t much of a market out there for him.🤷‍♂️Or he Really likes Borgen.

Dreger saying Frederic drawing a lot of interest and Sweeney weighing his options on the return and the cost to re-sign him.

I’m trying to be optimistic about this Bruins team by telling myself “At least we’re not Rangers fans”

Borgen's a right shot defenseman.

He can replace Trouba.

Fredric is way better than Geekie. Look how fast Fredric skates. He is a lot better at carrying the puck too. He hits more. He fights.
Initially I thought you were being sarcastic, but then your post kept going.

I have never seen how "fast" Frederic skates. And I've rarely seen him bring his physicality in high temperature games that actually matter.

If any GM wants to overpay for him, I wouldn't think twice.

According to the chips in the jerseys he was in the 60-70th percentiles for skaters last year. Hard to argue against the literal speed trackers in their shirts.
