Can’t really compare when Markstrom has 2 years left on his contract tho I would’ve gladly ate 25% of Ullmarks contract to only get are 1st back without Korpisalo..When you compare the Markstrom deal to this it hurts even more. I can't believe this is what we ended up with it's genuinely worse than nothing
Lets hope this start to the offseason is like one of those paintings where in the beginning you have no idea what it's posed to be then out of nowhere it all comes together. In terms of what they did get, and again I agree it's disappointing, but they did get assets that can help.
They need good young players and should get one at 25.
We've talked about adding some 4th line pop and tossed out names like Duhaime. Kastellic works hard, hits hard and fights anyone, and he costs 50%-60% less than a UFA doing the same job.
Beecher - Kastellic - Brazeu = speed, size,
Korpisalo is a tough pill to swallow. You have to hope the Bruins see something others don't. That his numbers are a result of bad teams or a simple correction GoalieBob can fix. I could totally see a scenario where Korpisalo comes here and suddenly becomes a .920% goalie playing 30 games a year for Boston and the Bruins end up with the best goalie combo in the league again. BUT even if all those maybe's work out in our favor, Sweeney still should have gotten a pick for all the risk involved with that contract.
Last potential 'positive' if it can be called that is that I would expect there is another (smaller) shoe to fall in terms of Bussi. He won't make it through waivers so maybe there's another Vladar type deal coming where the Bruins get another pick for Bussi.
They probably really wanted to get a pick in this year. If they wait for an injury we're talking a '25 pick at the earliest.I hear what you are saying but why now? Why not let a market develop? Maybe some of the goalies go down on his OK list? Maybe in January Linus is getting anxiety over not having a contract extension as a back up in Boston? Bruins had some leverage as well and pissed it away.
Isn't that what he's been doing essentially since day one. He's had some decent trades but shit like this is shockingly bad. "Secondary Scoring" is what he's looking for. Can't make this shit up!I think Don Sweeney should continue to only focus on the fourth line. I think all four lines should essentially be fourth lines. But that he should also sign an extra six fourth line players so he can actually have six fourth lines. How could any team compete with that kind of fourth line depth?

Be careful in life who and when you laugh atSens fans are ecstatic and laughing their asses off.
No kidding.Sens fans are ecstatic and laughing their asses off.
I'm sure one of the resident Bruins management apologists here will explain it to you. PatienceWhat the f*** is this deal? Literally: why?
Hey me too!!!!!Maybe it's just me but I would rather have a 1st round pick.
Cause Korpisalo was so awful last year letting in the easiest of shots it was like he needed contacts.. or was hitting the bottle before gamesSens fans are ecstatic and laughing their asses off.

It’s a human weakness
Korpisalo at 3 M isn’t exactly Jack Campbell
3 M is moveable and big difference for goalies in this organization coaching and players
I didn’t like his inclusion but I did 25OA and Kastelic can play L4 RW - I’d rather have his right shot their and toughness then Lauko
Korpi is my only blah but 3 M as backup if he is, is what the paid Halek ($2.75)
I’m going to watch how plays out
I do remember people having a similar reaction to the Ullmark signing
